Mrs. Mulvanerty's Update
August 18, 2024
January 5, 2025
Dear SKS,
Happy New Year! We hope you had a restful and joyful Christmas season filled with love, laughter, and joy.
If you're like me, the start of a new year means decluttering. I know this resonates with you too, because, without naming names, I saw some of you at The Container Store making similar efforts to get organized!
But decluttering means more than attending to our closets and spaces; it means letting go of things that don't serve us, decluttering our time and energy. It begs the questions: What are our areas of focus this year? How can we make space for what matters, and let go of the rest?
For the wise men, their focus was finding Jesus, guided by the star that illuminated their path. They let nothing deter them from their journey of faith. As we step into this new year, I invite you to consider what your guiding star is. How can you make time and space to nurture your faith journey? Whether it’s carving out moments for prayer, attending Mass, attending an Evening of Reflection (SEE BELOW -- our own Caitlin Thompson is speaking THIS WEEK!) or simply pausing to recognize God’s presence in your daily lives, these small steps can bring light and peace, transforming everything we do.
I look forward to working with you all in the year ahead. Here’s to a bright and beautiful 2025!
G.B.Y.*,
Jeanne Mulvanerty
*God Bless You
Inclement Weather Alerts
We are closely monitoring the predicted snow storm for Monday. In the event of a school closing, we will notify you via text and email through Option C.
Give the Gift of Warmth!
Our 30-year church boiler has completely failed – right at the start of winter! You’ll probably notice the temporary setup outside the church by the parish center. That’s a good fix for now but we need to install a new heater quickly. It’s an unexpected $75,000 investment that comes at a time when parish finances are already stretched thin. Please prayerfully consider making a donation to keep our church warm for years to come. You will find envelopes in the church pews or visit sksparish.org/churchboiler. Thank you!
Women's Evening of Reflection: Featuring our own Caitlin Thompson!
Raising a Catholic Family - January 9
Calling all moms! This Thursday's Women's Evening of Reflection features Caitlin Thompson, SKS mom and leader of Mothers of Young Children. You will enjoy this special night out of prayer, inspiration and community! Come on out if you can!

Middle School Electives
Share Your Knowledge!
Students expand their horizons and discover new interests with our exciting Middle School Electives! Each trimester course features four engaging sessions designed to nurture the whole student by exploring delving into career interests, serving our community, supporting academic and social development, or gaining valuable life skills. We are now planning for the third trimester which begins in April. If you have a unique skill or passion you'd like to share and are interested in leading a mini-course, please contact Jeanne Mulvanerty at jeanne@sksschool.org.
