What & Why? Participants will collaborate with their K-12 district team to complete CS for ALL’s SCRIPT framework: the Strategic CS for ALL Resource & Implementation Planning Tool to help them write their K-12 Computer Science plan to meet the requirements of the Future Ready Act, House File 2629, which requires all districts to develop and/or expand and implement a K-12 computer science plan by July 1, 2022. This plan will also include districts putting in place computer science best practice opportunities for their K-12 students.
Who? It is recommended that bldg. level and central office administrators, teachers represented in all three grade bands, and instructional/tech coaches attend and who will lead the work outlined in their plan. This representation will help identify what the current reality and the desired state at the classroom level and the systems level in order for the team to make decisions to move toward the desired state.
When? Two full-day workshops in various regions in Prairie Lakes from 9:00-3:30. A working lunch will be taking place during the panel discussion (BYOLunch or catered in at district expense). A longer one-day workshop from 8:00-4:00 is also being provided for schools who want to begin the work but will use time back in district to continue the process in order to complete their plan.
