April 5, 2025
Next week begins our Kansas State Assessments for our students grades 3-8. We know our teachers and students have been working hard all year long to show off all that they have learned. Each day we have a special incentive for the students, so they can do their best and Bust that Test! We are so proud of our teachers and students for doing their best each day and letting God do the rest.
To encourage and inspire our students, we had a very special guest speaker this afternoon. Our very own, Dr. Tiffany Porter, mother to Chidera Porter in our PreK classroom, gave a presentation that inspired us all. She, her sister and her husband are a family of Olympians in track and field. She attended the Olympics three times and talked about working so hard and never giving up. She gave our students the best pep talk and we know they are ready for the week. Thank you, Dr. Porter, for taking time out of your busy day to come pump our students up to "Bust that Test" next week.
Please make sure your child gets a good night sleep, eats a heathy breakfast, arrives ON TIME and keep appointments after school. We appreciate your help in making this a successful week for our students.
Ms. Mandl and Mrs. Eva Gavin have been preparing our second graders for their first reconciliation and first communion this week. We are so blessed to have Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and this faith formation opportunity for our children. Please keep these sweet children in your prayers this weekend as they prepare their hearts for Jesus.
We were able to have Mass together at Church on Thursday. Our third grade students did a beautiful job leading us in Mass this Easter Octave. I know the parishioners love having us over at Church and we love being with them too. It is always a beautiful start to our Thursdays.
Have a blessed weekend!

Staff Departure
Mrs. Debbie Watson
Each year it is always so difficult to say good-bye to one of our family members. Mrs. Watson came to us three years ago and has been such a wonderful addition to our community. We knew from the moment we met her that she was very passionate about education. She plans each lesson with such detail and works hard ensuring that each student is successful. The school staff even nicknamed Mrs. Watson the "New Mrs. Gittinger" and with her outstanding state assessment scores each year I would say they are very similar. As we are so happy for her to return back home to Wisconsin to be with her family, we are sad for our school community. We know that Mrs. Watson's new school in Wisconsin will be blessed by her many gifts and talents. Please keep us in your prayers Mrs. Watson as we will keep you in ours! When you are back in town, make sure to come see us.

We are grateful for Ms. Kopp and the teachers guiding our students through this very special event on Monday, April 8th.The eclipse will occur on Monday beginning at 12:37 PM and concludes at 3:11 PM with the peak at 1:54 PM, and our school has organized a viewing event to provide our students with a safe and educational experience. During this event, our teachers will guide students in observing the eclipse through purchased safety glasses and provide educational context about the celestial event. On Monday students will not have outdoor recess during the eclipse window and will only be outside with their teacher and the certified glasses.
