Dear Fulton Families,
This Friday, report cards for all students will be available through HCPSS Connect. Some parents have inquired about the grades they see on their children's Canvas page. Please note that at the elementary level grades are a result of many assessments. Some assessments are posted on the Canvas page, but teachers also collect grades through observation and informal assessments, which may not be posted through Canvas. If you have any questions about your child’s grade, please reach out to your child’s teacher. Parent-Teacher conferences is also a wonderful opportunity to gain more insight into how your child is progressing in the curriculum. We look forward to having our families engage in our Parent-Teacher conferences November 21st- November 23rd. More detailed information will be shared this morning.
Warmly,
Dr. Burks, Mrs. Sillers, & Mrs. Brickner
Health Matters
Safe Driving on Our Campus
Since the start of the school year, I have observed an uptick in unsafe driving habits on our school campus. Such habits put the safety of our students and our staff - as well as the staff and students at the other schools on the entire Fulton campus - at risk.
It is essential that we work together to address this issue.
To that end, I remind all drivers to please respect the speed limit and established traffic patterns while on our campus. Please also be patient with your fellow drivers on campus. No one enjoys sitting in long car or bus lines, but if we can be patient with each other, we can alleviate some of the pressure that may otherwise lead us to make hasty driving decisions.
Lastly, I want to encourage all drivers to be vigilant as they travel through our campus. Together with Fulton, Lime Kiln, and Cedar Lane, we serve more than [x] students and families every day. In addition to generating a large volume of cars and buses, this generates a terrific amount of foot traffic. Please be particularly careful as you drive around crosswalks and be aware that pedestrians may appear in areas that you are not expecting.
Thank you in advance for your partnership in keeping our community safe.
The ordering deadline is TOMORROW, November 8.

Happy almost November! In the month of November, we will be celebrating Native American Heritage Month! Here are some resources for you and your family to explore!
Do you celebrate Native American heritage? Tell us how here!
Did you know Native American Heritage Month is a recognition of the significant contributions of Native peoples past and present and the influence they have had on the advancement of the United States. In 1990 President George H. W. Bush approved a joint resolution designating November 1990 “National American Indian Heritage Month.” Similar proclamations, under variants on the name (including “Native American Heritage Month” and “National American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month”) have been issued each year since 1994.
#Socktober
A huge shout-out to Ms. Jillian O'Brien, 5th grade teacher. Every year Ms. O'Brien leads these efforts, every day in October she shows off a different pair of socks to get the students excited. This is such a great cause and we couldn't do this without Ms. O'Brien. Thank you Ms. O'Brien!
