We invite all BK families to our Back to School event on Monday, August 26th 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. This is an opportunity for our families to see their child's classrooms, drop off school supplies, meet the staff, and visit with other families!

We look forward to meeting all of our BK families and to welcoming everyone back to school!

Our school division will be running a staggered start for all classes Kindergarten to Grade 6. Students with last names beginning with A-K will attend on August 28 and students with last names starting with L-Z will attend on August 29. ALL students will attend on August 30.

Below is our scheduled bell times for the 2024-2025 school year:

8:15 a.m. - 3:45 p.m.

ENTRANCE SCHEDULE MORNING ARRIVAL

Teachers will meet their students at their assigned doors at 8:55 a.m. School begins at 9:00 a.m.

MORNING RECESS

Recess - 10:51 a.m. - 11:06 a.m.

LUNCH and RECESS

Outside Recess - 12:20 p.m. - 12:45 p.m.

Eat Lunch - 12:45 p.m. - 1:05 p.m.

DISMISSAL TIME

3:30 p.m.

KINDERGARTEN - Half Days

8:55 a.m. - 11:47 a.m. - AM Only Class

12:38 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. - PM Only Class

PRE-KINDERGARTEN TIME

Morning only - 8:55 a.m. - 11:47 a.m.

PLEASE NOTE: No calculators will be needed for this school year.

Students in grade 4 will be given a bible, and students in grade 5 and 6 are asked to bring the bible to school that they received in grade 4.

Bring Your Own Robust Device (BYORD)

Robust Technology Device: Although we won’t recommend specific models or kinds of devices, we encourage you to by a device that features the following for the best learning results:

• Wireless networking capability (the Division provides filtered wireless access in all buildings for students)
• A microphone
• An external keyboard for entering text
• Audio output for earbuds or headphones
• A minimum of 6 hours of use from one battery charge
• A full-functioning, recent Chrome web browser that will allow access to Google Apps for Education tools and documents
• A sturdy carrying case (NO backpack) that will protect the device
• An integrated camera that takes both still photos and video

There is no perfect device, however, the following are examples of devices that meet the criteria above:

1. Chromebooks (ex. Asus Chromebook, Acer Chromebook, HP Chromebook Samsung Chromebook)
2. Laptop (ex. Macbook Pro, Macbook Air, Acer Aspire, HP laptop, Toshiba Satellite Laptop)

Students will only be permitted to use their own devices at school if the “Learning with Technology: Responsible Use Agreement" has been completed. Please review with your child.
