LNPD Weekly Newsletter
AISD Learn 'N Playday Preschool Updates for the Week of 2/3
LNPD Weekly Updates:
Crazy weather this week at LNPD. We had cold, rain, and heat. The Groundhog saw his shadow, so the prediction is 6 more weeks of winter. We all know Texas is a unique state, so make sure you are watching the weather to dress your child appropriately.
I sent an email about your children writing their valentines for their friends. I hope they are working on them and are ready to share them with their friends on Valentines Day! If you have any questions, please reach out to your children's teachers.
Valentine parties are next Thursday and Friday. Feel free to send your child in red, pink, white, or heart shirts or dresses. Head gear is welcomed too. If you signed up to bring in an item via Sign up Genius, please bring your items no later than the morning of 2/13. Thank you for helping us make our parties a fun time for our students.
January Scholastic books arrived and were put in your child's backpacks, so check for those today. Two new booklets will go home next week and orders will be due back by 2/21.
The AISD Mother/Son dance is tomorrow night 7-9pm in the AHS cafeteria. If you have not gotten tickets yet, today is the last day to purchase them online. You can purchase tickets at the door too. It is a fun event for moms and sons. The DJ plays many fun line dance songs and the boys love having the one-on-one time with their moms. The Photo ops are incredible and this years theme is Super Heroes, a favorite for the boys. Look for Mrs. Dede and Mrs. Celesa selling tickets at the event too. Dressing up is optional, so don't let that stop you from going!! I hope you all have a wonderful time!!
I know some of you are anxiously awaiting information on registration for next year. We are hoping to have everything ready to advertise in the next few weeks. As a reminder, current LNPD families and AISD employees have the opportunity to enroll their current LNPD child or siblings before registration is opened to our Eleyo community waiting list.
Please remember to put your LNPD car tag on your rearview mirror. We have several of families with the same car, new cars, and other family members picking up and we do not always recognize who you are. The car tag helps to keep the flow of cars go more smoothly.
Weekly classroom images are found in the gallery below and on your teacher's websites. I also have some 3's Playground photos this week too. https://www.allenisd.org/o/aisd/page/learn-n-playday
Classroom Themes
The 3's classes with Mrs. Angie and Mrs. Stephanie were learning all about the Weather this week. There were all sorts of activities geared towards our 4 seasons. Sand and shells in the sensory table for Summer, ice and polar bears in the water table for Winter, and outlining Uu with umbrellas for Spring, and a leaf activity with yellow, orange, red and brown leaves for Fall. They spelled out Snow, Windy, and Cloudy too. I gave a tattoo to kids that completed this task.
Mrs. Dede and Mrs. Yolanda's class focused on Dr. Seuss and Rhyming this week. Rhyming is one of the hardest things for kids to learn at this age and they are doing great. The letter bucket this week even has them putting double the items, so they have two rhyming words. A lot of extra effort has gone into their activities this week and the kids have enjoyed stretching their brains.
Mrs. Celesa and Mrs. Cynthia's class studies Color Surprise this week. All the colors of the rainbow were represented. The kids even did a class art project and made a rainbow with all their handprints. The hardest task for the kids this week was putting together a large, rainbow floor puzzle. They also enjoyed doing a color activity on the smart board. The kids were willing to wait in line for their turn to draw lots of colors on the screen.
Tuition payments
Throughout the school year you are always able to update your status to auto-pay. However, if you choose to pay manually, you can make your payment at anytime in the two week period from the time of invoice, up until the 28th of every month without a $25 late fee. Any late payments will receive the late fee and it will be charged automatically on your next months invoice. I try to send several reminders to help you avoid these fees.
Families were sent an invoice on 1/15 via email from Eleyo.
February tuition is due no later than 1/28.
February Calendar of Events
Our pink February calendar went home this week. Please make sure you are making note of important dates and activities each month. We don't want any of our families missing out on all the stuff going on at Learn 'N Playday!!! If you ever lose yours, I post our monthly newsletter and calendar on our LNPD website. I will send a Newsletter/Calendar home at the beginning of each new month and they will vary in copy paper color.

We would love to have them in our program for next school year!

Illness Reminders:
If sick, your child must be:
1. fever free 24 hours
2. vomit free 24 hours
3. diarrhea free for 24 hours, all before sending them back to school
They also need to be medicine free at school. Giving Tylenol or other fever reducing medicines in the morning can upset their stomachs and also lead to fevers and vomiting later in the day or children falling asleep.
We have had a lot of runny noses and coughing at LNPD and a few kids have had strep and flu. The tummy bug has hit LNPD. If your child is experiencing loose bowels or complaining that their tummy hurts, it is the first signs of this illness. Please be on the lookout for any of these things and keep your children home if they are within that 24 hours of being contagious.

If it is 90-99 actual temperature or heat index, we have a shortened recess time of 10 minutes
It is 100 or above actual temperature or heat index it is INDOOR recess only
35 or below actual or wind child, INDOOR recess only

Air Quality alerts are also shortened recess 10-15 minutesPotty Reminders
Please make sure you have your child use the restroom before leaving your houses in the mornings. Also, please remind your children to tell the teachers when they need to go potty. Some of the accidents we are experiencing is because our students either wait too long to tell someone or they do not inform the teachers that they need to go. (Every LNPD class goes as a class at least 3-4 times per day)
Please have a full change of clothes in your child's backpack. Socks and shoes included and more than one pair of underwear and pants or shorts are always helpful too. Please also make sure your children's clothing items are labeled.
Ongoing 24-25 LNPD Registration. Openings in our 4's classes ONLY.
Other Important Information
- Field trips and LNPD activities have begun. All parents must complete a background check prior to participating in any of these activities. This process may take up to two weeks to complete. I have included the link for easy access if you are interested in volunteering. https://www.allenisd.org/page/register-volunteer
- We are not using water fountains this year, so a water bottle is definitely needed. We have a touch free, filtered water bottle station in the LNPD hallway, so we can refill their bottles too.
Make sure to visit our LNPD website to view our monthly calendar and newsletter, find your weekly classroom news and pictures, music songs, links to Eleyo. www.allenisd.org/learnnplayday (4 year old's need to turn in their hearing and vision forms by Dec. 22nd)
