Principal's Message
Dear Elmdale Community,
Happy New Year and welcome back to school! We hope your Christmas break was filled with warm and memorable moments with your children. By the way, on behalf of the entire Elmdale team, thank you for all of your holiday wishes and generosity before the break. Your kindness is truly appreciated by our staff.
The new year is a time for reflection. Since September, we've seen tremendous growth in our students. They are learning so much and we have enjoyed working with them. Also, we are grateful to live and work in a very caring and supportive community that supported Steinbach Community Christmas with such emphatic support. On a personal note, as someone new to Elmdale, I want to express thankfulness for the warm welcome that I have received from the students, staff, and community.
While returning to school involves getting back into routines and classroom learning, there are also special events to look forward to. For instance, we are pleased to welcome back Artist in the School Colleen Watchorn during the first week back. Every class will have a lesson with this distinguished local artist and art instructor. Also, the grade 2s will be starting their swimming lessons program at the Steinbach Aquatic Centre. Furthermore, our grade 4 classes will be leading our first assembly of the month. Then, come February, it will be I Love to Read Month. You get the idea!
Happy New Year,
Mr. Anders Rempel

Christmas Concert
Congratulations to Miss Gabi and to all of our grades 1 and 2 students for their energetic and heartfelt performance of Arf on the Housetop. Likewise, our kinder students performed wonderfully, too. Thank you to parents for supporting the concerts and making sure your children were at the Pat Porter Active Living Centre on-time for the evening concert. A special thanks to PAC for putting together the Tütje bags for these students. It was a lot of fun to share a local tradition with our Elmdale families!
Dress for the Cold Weather
We encourage you to send your children with warm winter gear as we will try to go outside for recess as much as possible.
