Hello Spicewood Families,

It has been an action packed week at Spicewood! Although I think every week will be this way until the end of the school year. 😄 Please make sure to mark your calendars for all of the upcoming events. We know that not everyone can do everything, but we want to make sure families are aware of all that is happening at Spicewood!

Reminder there is no school on Monday for students. Our staff will be participating in professional development.

Have a great 3-day weekend! We hope to see many of you at the gala tomorrow!

Spicewood 5th graders at Spicewood participated in our 3rd annual “Walk for Water” event to raise awareness about the importance of clean water accessibility. The students walked the track carrying water, symbolizing the journey many take for clean water. All grade levels were invited to join them for a lap around the track in support.

Earlier this week, team members from Well Aware visited to share their mission, and our students asked insightful, thoughtful questions. It was truly inspiring to see their curiosity and respectful communication skills in action. These experiences help foster a deeper understanding and appreciation for the world around them.

All gallons of clean water that were collected will be donated to local organizations in need.

Parents, please complete the K-4 Enrollment Form 2025-2026 for each of your children in grades K-4. We need this information to determine the number of teachers assigned to Spicewood next year and to ensure that your child is placed in a class. Please submit by Wednesday, April 9.

On Tuesday, our 2nd grade students had a visit from KXAN's Kristen Currie. She spoke to the students about weather, safety tips, her career, and what it is like being live on TV everyday! Our students were awesome participants and were especially interested in learning about the green screen!

Field Day is just around the corner, taking place on April 25th! While this event is closed to visitors, we are looking for volunteers to help run activity stations. If you’re interested, please use the link below to check grade-level schedules and sign up. Thank you for your support in making this a fun and successful day for our students!

As we begin planning our fundraising efforts for next year, we would love to hear from you! This year, we introduced Apex as a new fundraiser, and as you can see in the charts below, it generated large portion of the current income for our PTA. These funds are making a significant impact—helping to remodel our gym and courts while also supporting numerous academic programs and staff initiatives at Spicewood.

We always strive to be mindful of both the number and timing of fundraising events, but we value your input to help us make the best decisions for our school community. Every fundraiser requires an investment to generate a return, and we want to ensure that our efforts align with what works best for our families.

One World - One Night is taking place this year on Thursday, April 3rd from 5:30-7:30pm.
