• Please try to not pick up your student during the scheduled testing time, as we need to limit classroom interruptions
• Please have your student bring hard-wired headphones, if possible. They should bring them every day we are SBA testing
• Students should charge their Chromebook every night, and bring their charger for their device
• It is also important to get a good night's rest and eat breakfast prior to testing, or bring a light snack if need be
• We recommend that students bring a book to read for when they finish testing
Overdue Class Fees/Library Books
Families may receive a notification regarding a class fee that is due. These fees help support the curriculum and staff purchasing supplies necessary for their curriculum.
Class fees can be paid online with a credit card, or you can pay with cash (ideally exact change) or check at the Gateway Middle School Office. Please make checks out to Gateway Middle School. If you would like to pay online, please follow the instructions on login screen, using your student’s ID for the login information. After logging in, click on the following in this order:
• Click on the box under Who are you shopping for? then
• Under the Shop category “Items At Student’s School”
• Next to Categories “Registration/Orientation”
• Then click Buy next to “Choir Fee,” "Orchestra Fee," or "Band Fee" depending on the class your student is in
• Complete the checkout process, and the payment will show on your student’s account
If you need assistance with making the payment online, please call the Main Office at 425-385-6600 and we can help you.
This is also a great time to look for overdue library books. Overdue library book notices were sent out to student email addresses by the librarian on Monday, April 29th.
All financial obligations must be paid for students to receive their Yearbook at the same time as the rest of their grade level before June Jamboree at the end of the year. Course fees that remain unpaid after the school year will be converted into fines on the student’s account.
If you have questions regarding your student’s fee, or need to work out a payment plan, please contact the Gateway Middle School Office Manager - Mrs. Seifert at mseifert@everettsd.org.

Staying Connected
When we send out information through our communication platform, we typically include a text or phone call to alert you that something was sent. Sometimes our newsletters go to your spam folder, so please to be sure to check there.
Also, did you know that we post our Gateway Broadcast News (GBN) on our website under the Parents Tab, and it is also emailed to students every day? The GBN has lots of information, especially for students, about current events at Gateway. This includes how to find instructions and deadlines for competitions and other activities.

**Please see below for additional graduation info that was added after the newsletters came out:

Buses
This is just a friendly reminder that students are not allowed to ride their friends' bus. Transportation let us know that the buses at Gateway are too full this year, so they are not allowing students to ride a bus that is not their routed bus.
Connect with us!
Another way to stay connected is through our Gateway Broadcast News (GBN). On our website under the Parents tab, you can find the Morning Announcements (GBN) Archives. These announcements are read every day during 1st period, and the information is helpful for both students and parents.
To report attendance: GWYAttendance@everettsd.org
8th Grade Promotion Activities

Appointments and Absences
Whenever your student will be absent, arriving late, or leaving early for an appointment please email our Attendance Secretary at gwyattendance@everettsd.org. To excuse a student's absence, either email gwyattendance@everettsd.org, provide a handwritten note to the Main Office, or sign the student out at the Main Office. All of these options need to include the student's name, reason for the absence, and the date of the absence.
If you are needing to pick up your student early, please try and pick them at least 20 minutes before school is out. We have a lot of students getting picked up right before the end of the day recently, and finding a student right before school is out can be challenging. Thank you!
