Important Change to the NJSLA Schedule
Eastern Regional High School was selected to administer a field test in NJSLA ELA to all 9th grade students (Class of 2026) requiring an extra day of testing. Therefore, Eastern will be conducting NJSLA testing of all Freshman (Class of 2026) on Monday, May 22, 2023.
All members of the classes of 2023, 2024, and 2025 will report to school by 9:45am on Monday, May 22nd. Transportation will be provided at both times for those students.
The New Jersey Department of Education requires public schools to administer the New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA) in ELA and math to all 9th grade students; these assessments will be given on May 22 - 26, 2023.
The NJDOE also requires schools to administer the NJSLA in science to all 11th grade students. These assessments will be given May 23 - 26, 2023.
On these days, only the students who are testing will report to school at 7:30am. All other students will report to school at 9:45am. Please see the NJSLA test administration schedule for the alternate bell schedule that will be used. Transportation will be provided at both times for those students. Non-testing students requiring transportation should arrive at their bus stop 2 ½ hours later than the regular time.
All tests are digital and will be taken on the student’s iPads. On test days, it is mandatory that students bring their fully charged iPad and their charger to school with them. Replacement devices will not be provided. Students are encouraged to bring their own wired headphones for testing.

Counselors are available to assist students with their day-to-day needs. This includes academic as well as social-emotional concerns. Please reach out via email to schedule an appointment with your counselor. Guidance related news will be posted here.
Summer College Workshop
Eastern will be offering a summer college workshop for rising seniors to get a head start on the college application process. Learn about Common App, Naviance, FERPA, requesting letters of recommendation, transcripts, updating your resume, and more!
Eastern will host eight, two-hour sessions. Seats are limited and reservations are required. Parents are welcome to attend, but must also reserve a seat. You do not need your iPad, desktops will be used.

Class of 2023 iPad Purchase or Return Information
Payment Deadline 06/15/2023
All members of the Class of 2023 must complete the following Class of 2023 Senior iPad Exiting Procedures.
The students in the Class of 2023 may purchase their iPads at a reduced price of $65.00.
iPads Purchased:
iPads purchased between May 22 and June 15, 2023 will not become the possession of our students until after graduation on June 21, 2023..

iPads Not Purchased:
iPads not purchased by students must be returned during Lunch on June 12, 13, 14 and 15 from 10:25am to 11:25am in the Technology Center. Any student that has not purchased their iPad or returned their iPad by June 15, 2023 will be assigned an obligation of $65.00.

Eastern shines at Atlantic Coast Championships
Members of Eastern High School’s Marching Vikings indoor program spent the weekend in Wildwood earlier this month for the Tournament Indoor Association (TIA) Atlantic Coast Championships.
It was the school’s final event of the spring 2023 season. The TIA championships took place inside the Wildwood Convention center, which drew nearly 4,000 participants from 11 regions across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland and West Virginia.
