- New this year: raffle fundraiser. Cash and Venmo accepted. There will be some really fun prizes that you won't want to miss! All proceeds will go towards getting new books for the book vending machine next year. Cost: $1 per ticket or $10 for 12 tickets.

We try to go outside for recess as much as possible in the winter months. Students will go out if the "feel like" temp is 20 degrees or higher. Please send your student will appropriate warm clothing for recess. (It is helpful if you put your child's name in their coats as many times they show up in the lost and found)

In our intermediate grades, multiplication fact fluency helps to build a foundation for 4th and 5th grade math and beyond. If your child can double (multiply by 2) and count by 5’s, there is always a way to figure out the rest of the basic facts. Use these helpful hints when practicing multiplication facts at home:

1’s- Number stays the same (1 x 5 = 5)

2’s - Double the number (2 x 3) = 3 + 3 =6

3’s - Double the number and add a group (3 x 7) = 2 x 7 =14, 14 + 7 =21

4’s - Double, double (4 x 8) = 8 x 2 =16, 16 + 16= 32

5’s - Skip count by 5 (5 x 7) = 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35

6’s - Multiply by 5 and add a group (6 x 4) = 4 x 5 =20, 20 + 4=24

7’s - Multiply by 5 and add a double (7 x 4) = 4 x 5=20, 20 + 8 = 28

8’s - Double, Double, Double (8 x 6) = 6 + 6=12, 12 + 12 =24, 24 + 24= 48

9’s - Multiply by 10 and subtract a group (9 x 6) = 6 x 10 = 60, 60 - 6 = 54
