Rebel Review
August 16, 2024 - Back to School
Principal Message
South Families,
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year. I'm positive summer has passed too quickly for our students! However, the start of the school year should bring excitement for the new experiences and opportunities for growth and memories that are in front of our students and community. My name is Mr. Suttell, and I am thrilled to introduce myself to you as the principal here at Willoughby South High School. As a community member and father of a recent South High graduate, I can assure you that it is truly an outstanding time to be a part of the Willoughby-Eastlake Schools, and especially a part of Willoughby South High School. There are great things happening here, as Willoughby-Eastlake Schools are on the move. In the coming weeks, I look forward to sharing with you our initiatives around Willoughby-Eastlake Portrait of a Graduate competencies and our push toward personalization of learning through our Flex Learning Courses.
I do know, however, that the logistics and management of the start of school is most important for you as our students focus on their first few days back beginning Wednesday, August 21. Consequently, My communication today is mainly meant to give you that information you need in order to start the school year.
"The Rebel Review" will be sent every two weeks throughout the school year to help you stay informed of what is going on at Willoughby South. However, I do expect to communicate with you more frequently in these opening weeks of school. I would also encourage you to visit our school website anytime to view our latest updates. As always though, If you have any questions that you need answered directly, please feel free to call our main office for assistance (440-975-3648).
We look forward to seeing our students this Wednesday!
Sincerely,
Andy Suttell
Principal

Traffic Flow - Arrival and Dismissal
Students who are transported to school by bus will be dropped off in the back of the school and enter through our doors facing the football stadium (adults will be present to assist) Students being driven can/should use our front door entrances. We will begin dismissal at 2:10 each day next week in order for students to locate their buses and for our community to safely acclimate to the traffic pattern.
