A Message From Mrs. Carmody
Dear Fremont Families,
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we give thanks for all of the members of our community and look forward to our collaborative conferences on Monday. There will be an opportunity to write words of gratitude to our staff in appreciation for the work that they do. Look for tables set up around the school. See below for more details. Thank you for your partnership!
Looking for books to read over break? Here is a list that we generated at school. Stop by one of our local libraries to check these books out ... Fremont Public Library (https://www.fremontlibrary.org/) and Wauconda Area Public Library (https://www.fremontlibrary.org/).
Unfortunately, we have had an influx of trading cards, from Pokemon to Sports cards, at school. We do not allow these at school because we often have students confused if friends are giving them "for keeps" or if they are just showing them and want them back. We have also had students selling them. Please remind your child to keep these at home. Thank you!
Have a wonderful break.
In gratitude,
Beth Carmody

Weather Closing Protocol
With the winter season just about upon us, please review this page as a reminder of our winter weather school closing procedures.
FSD79 is committed to making well-informed decisions that are in the best interest of the safety of our entire school community. In general, if school will be closed, the District will notify families and staff by 5:30 a.m. the day of the closing. Even if the schools are open, the final decision about a child’s attendance remains with the parent.
If schools will be closed due to winter weather, the District intends to utilize eLearning days in lieu of emergency days at the end of the school year.
Registration Open for Post-Winter Break Wednesday Right at School
Registration is now open for Wednesday no-cost after-school (3:08 - 4:08 p.m.) childcare program for Fremont School District 79 K-5 students from January 8, 2025, through the end of the school year.
PLEASE NOTE: To register your student(s) for after-school childcare on Wednesdays from January 8 through May 28, you must do so by Friday, December 13. Please review the following two-step registration process:
FOR CHILDCARE
To participate, families must register via the Right at School website by Friday, December 13.
FOR BUS TRANSPORTATION
If 4:08 p.m. bus transportation home is necessary, parents must complete this form for every child needing bus transportation by Friday, December 13. These bus routes are run similar to activity buses with neighborhood group stops. If you do not register your child(ren) for bus transportation, you are committing to picking your child(ren) up each week.
It is important to note that requests made after Friday, December 13 cannot be accommodated due to our need to devise a safe supervision and transportation plan.
Multicultural Family Night - December 5th
The multilingual teachers are eager to host the next Multicultural Family Night virtually on December 5th, featuring winter multicultural stories. Families are encouraged to participate in the Multicultural Family Nights to connect and learn with other families in our community!

Student Absences
If your child will be absent from school for any reason, please report the absence to the school office by 9:00 a.m. by calling 847-837-0437 option 2. Safety is our number one priority so please help us by reporting as soon as possible. Attendance at school is crucial for your child’s success so every effort should be made to avoid non-health-related absences.
