STARS FOOTBALL EXTRA POINTS
APRIL EDITION 2 OF 2 (14TH - END OF APRIL)
TRUE NORTH
Ten years ago, our 2013 class developed the True North mentality. Each point on the 5-pointed star is recognized to represent one belief that our program will be built on. Each point on the star is equal to the one before it. The values of Leadership, Investment, Selflessness, Accountability, and Preparation make up our North Star. In the center of the completed stars lies the T.E.A.M. For the past ten seasons and every moment in between, we have remained consistent in our steadfast belief in these five values. They are our "True North". These beliefs will be our compass in all we do as a program on and off the field. Much like the Northstar in maritime days, we will use our "True North" as the compass we will follow in the journey to the elite. I am proud of these words and what they mean. I have seen them transform lives, including my own. I hope you can share in our "True North" philosophy and discuss these values with your son or daughter as much as possible.

Stars Family -
As we embark on this coming season, it is important to understand that no two years are the same. Each year is unique in it's strengths, weaknesses and the challenges we might face. For 12 years, our value system has been the one consistent aspect of our program. Our True North is the guiding force behind all that we do. Its importance cannot be understated, so I will highlight one value in each of our newsletters for the remainder of the school year. In volume 2 of our April editions, we will be looking at the value of Leadership
As we lace up our cleats and step onto the field, I want to share with you a fundamental truth: leadership matters. It’s not just about wearing a captain’s "C" or shouting instructions during a match. Leadership is woven into the fabric of our team, and it impacts every play, every practice, and every victory.
Here are five reasons why embracing leadership is essential for our success:
Guiding the Team: Leaders steer the ship. They set the tone, inspire their teammates, and lead by example. Whether you’re a seasoned player or a rookie, your actions influence others. Be intentional about the path you’re charting.
Unity and Trust: A team without trust is like a ship without a rudder. Leadership builds trust. When you communicate openly, support your fellow players, and hold each other accountable, trust flourishes. Trust fuels our collective effort.
Resilience in Adversity: Football isn’t all touchdowns and celebrations. There are fumbles, missed shots, and tough losses. Leaders don’t crumble; they rise. They encourage, motivate, and remind everyone that setbacks are stepping stones to success.
Empowering Others: True leaders empower those around them. Lift up your teammates. Celebrate their victories as if they were your own. When you pass the ball to a teammate in a better position, you’re not just making an assist—you’re demonstrating leadership.
Legacy Beyond the Field: Leadership extends beyond the white lines. It shapes character, work ethic, and resilience. The lessons you learn here—about sacrifice, discipline, and teamwork—will serve you well in life, whether you’re chasing a career goal or supporting your community.
So, wear our colors with pride, but remember that true leadership isn’t about the number on your back; it’s about the impact you make on those around you. Lead with heart, inspire with actions, and let’s create a legacy that echoes through every season.
Together, we rise.
True North

College Visitation Rules
The NCAA D1 FBS contact period has started. That means colleges can schedule times to visit with the 2024 recruits. In the coming weeks, we will have an excellent opportunity to get our players in front of some of the best and brightest colleges in the country. Our protocol for college visits is as follows.
1. Coach Pomazak emails administration scheduled visits for the coming day, including which students have been asked to attend by visiting college coach.
2. Students will receive a pass before the scheduled visit.
3. Students will only have 15 minutes to visit. This will help limit the loss of instructional time.
4. If students have any assessments during the visit, they are not permitted to come.
5. Teachers have the right to ask students not to leave class.
6. Students should refrain from missing the same class twice a row.
Jen McClure is named new 4th Phase Parent Group Leader

Taking the reigns will be Jennifer McClure. Jen has had two players go through the program. Previously Zach '21 was a team captain and conference champion, currently Aidan is a junior All-Conference linebacker. We welcome Jen to the helm and look forward to working with her.
