RPHS Course Planning Night 2025
RPHS Course Planning Night will be January 22, 2025 from 5-7pm. This evening is a great opportunity for families to learn about courses, programs and opportunities offered through Raymore-Peculiar High School. There will be informational sessions, a sophomore orientation, and a department fair to share information regarding courses. Advisors will also be available to answer questions. Please see attached newsletter for detailed information.
For Seniors, this will be the opportunity to participate in FAFSA Frenzy. The FAFSA is a financial document that college bound and some trade schools use to award grants and student loans. We will have financial aid representatives to help families fill out the FAFSA.
After School ACT Prep Course for January/February
To take the ACT Prep Class at RPHS, you need to sign up by January 17 in order to ensure materials are available by the start of the class. Registration will be capped at 25 students. You will be paying for the materials that you will keep. You will pay online or you can see Ms. Harmon in the finance office to pay with cash or check. The cost for the materials will be $45 and includes practice tests as well as online access.
Every class, we will meet in room 212 from 2:45 pm - 4:45 pm. Please have your rides ready to pick up at the front office. Dates include:

Thur, Jan 30: 2:45-4:45 pm
SATURDAY, Feb 1: 8 am - noon (PRACTICE test starts at 8am)

This class is set up to provide students the time to study and practice ACT skills. This class will allow students that time that they likely would not force themselves to do on their own and provide them with some skills to better tackle questions.
If students are unable to to attend, please email both Mrs. Roberts and Ms. Eischeid (lisa.roberts@raypec.org AND bridget.eischeid@raypec.org) to tell them that you will not be there or you will be late. If you have questions, please email one or both of us.

ACT Testing 2024-2025
The next ACT test date is February 8th. Regular registration ends on January 3rd. Late registration closes on January 20th with additional fees. Go to Missouri ACT for more information about future ACT testing.
- The RayPec High School code is 262580. That is what students use to indicate that they are a RP student so their scores get sent to us.
- Raypec High School is a testing location for ACT national test dates. The RayPec Test Center Code is 166690. This is what students use to select RP as the testing location.
2025-2026 FAFSA Now Open
The 2025–26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form is now available. You can complete the form to apply for financial aid for attendance at college or career school between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026.
If you successfully submitted your FAFSA form during the beta testing period, you don’t need to resubmit it.
FAFSA forms submitted online will typically be processed in one to three days. Once your form is processed, you’ll be able to review your FAFSA Submission Summary and your FAFSA information will be made available to your selected schools.
You also can make updates or corrections (such as adding a school or a missing signature) to your FAFSA form.
Prepare To Fill Out the 2025–26 FAFSA® Form
Here are some ways you can get ready to fill out your FAFSA form:
Create a StudentAid.gov account (if you don’t already have one).
Learn about the documents you may need to fill out the FAFSA form.
Determine your dependency status and whether your parent(s) or spouse will be required to contribute information on your FAFSA form.
If you’re a dependent student, use the Who’s My FAFSA Parent? wizard to identify which parent(s) will be a required contributor on your form.
Horatio Alger Scholarship for Juniors
Due March 1, 2025
The Horatio Alger Association is seeking 11th grade students that display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, and plan to pursue higher education. Students must have financial need and a determination to turn their adversity into opportunity and pursue their American Dream.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Be enrolled full time as a high school junior in the United States
Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution)
Demonstrate financial need ($65,000 or lower household income)
Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0; and
Be a United States citizen

We are excited to share with you the creation of a Parent, Teacher, Student Organization at Ray-Pay High School. This organization is a unique and convenient way for parents to be involved in the life of the school and demonstrate support for students and staff. Meeting dates for the next two months is as follows:

Programs and Learning Opportunities for Students
University of Missouri High School Mini Medical School June 2025
Missouri high school students interested in careers in medicine can preview what medical school is like during Mini-Medical School. Students will stay in residence halls and eat in dining rooms on campus. Participation will be open to current Missouri high school juniors (rising seniors) graduating in 2026. The program is open to all students meeting eligibility criteria; we encourage student from groups underrepresented in medicine and from rural communities to apply. Applications open January 17, 2025.

The American Legion Department of Missouri 2025 Cadet Patrol Academy
The principle responsibility of our law enforcement authority is to insure all the rights and freedoms of All members of our society, and the underlying purpose of The Missouri Cadet Patrol Academy is to provide first hand experience of the role of Law Enforcement in promoting and safe - guarding American freedoms and rights. It is hoped that the young men and women who participate in The Cadet Patrol Academy will develop favorable attitudes toward law enforcement and will help disseminate these attitudes throughout the community. Our young people have proven their abilities to think clearly and often to be the staunchest of supporters for moral and legal rights. The Academy gives them the opportunity to see law enforcement practices and concepts at their best.
