West Elementary’s Youth Leadership Team Honored for Community Service
West Elementary School’s Youth Leadership Team is making a difference by fostering leadership and community engagement through service-learning projects. Their dedication recently earned them recognition from EducationPlus, showcasing the impact schools can make through service.
The team is part of Realize the Dream, a nationwide movement honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy by uniting communities in a goal of completing 100 million service hours by his centennial in 2029. This initiative, supported by organizations like EducationPlus and the NFL, empowers students to create real change while developing leadership skills and a commitment to service.
EducationPlus, a dynamic learning platform, provides educators with resources, grants, and events to inspire students in service-learning. Katrina Wiltse, a longtime advocate, has been instrumental in this movement, serving as a U.S. Ambassador and a member of the Realize the Dream Educator Cohort.
West Elementary invites you to join this inspiring effort! Share your acts of service so we can celebrate and track contributions toward this historic goal. Together, we can make a lasting impact in our communities.
