Week In Review and A Look Ahead
December 13, 2024
Notes from the Principal
Tonight is the last of our three winter concerts. Our orchestra and choral concerts have been outstanding and there is no doubt tonight's band concert will be a success. We are already looking at ways to ensure smoother accomodations for our guests for the spring choral concert. We have a good problem to have in that our attendance at this event is exceptionally high. Please stay tuned regarding our refinements and enjoy the pictures below.

Winter Sports Update
Boys Basketball
8th grade - On 12/12, lost to PV West. In the first away game of the year, we came up against a talented PV West team. It was back and forth the whole game with the score tied 36-36 with under two minutes left. PV West pulled away in the end making the final score 42-36. It was a great effort from each member of the team.
7th grade - On 12/10, defeated West in a scrimmage. Andrew Smith led the scoring with contributions from each member of the team. The team had a solid victory on 12/12 at PV West.
Girls Basketball
8th grade - On 12/12, lost to PV West. 8th grade girls gave a great effort but fell short in a very competitive game. Ava Buckley led the team with 9, while Darby Glennon added 5 and Ava Hubley had 4. Kalei D'Aiello really stood out with some great guard play and Lillian Harner and Elena Childs dominated with their rebounding. On 12/10, defeated MS West. Chloe Lincavage led the team with 10 points and Ava Hubley had 6 and Ava Buckley had 5. Everyone contributed in a great effort.
7th grade - On 12/12, lost to PV West, 25-15. Mia Venezia led the team with 5, while Maggie Smith and Mickaella Okolie each had 3. Charley Updegrove and Ava Lydon each scored two and Brynn Lees once again controlled the point with Sophia Kenna playing great defense. Wrestling
The grapplers started off the season with a bang by beating Phoenixville 74-12 on 12/11. All but one of our victories were by a pin. Both the varisty and junior varisty wrestlers had a very strong showing.
Middle School East 50th Anniversary Open House
We are hard at work planning a special celebration for our community this spring. MSE has been a great place to be for 50 years and we will be recognizing our school, students, and staff with an Open House celebration in April. Stay tuned as more details are finalized for this evening community event.
We want to hear from our JHE/MSE "graduates" and will be showing a "Where Are You Now?" display at the Open House. We would love to hear from our former Easties. Please take a minute and fill out the quick questionnaire HERE for us to use at our Open House. Spread the word (and link) to your former classmates!
Library Updates
We are thrilled to share that we have completed our largest Rubik’s Cube mosaic, consisting of 180 cubes, and built by 27 enthusiastic students! This project has been a fantastic opportunity for teamwork and creativity. The students love to visit the library and see the new mosaics.
