From the Principal
Dear Midland Families:
Happy New Year! I hope that you and your family had a very joyous holiday season and that you are looking forward to all that 2025 has in store! At Midland, we have been preparing for this year in many ways. During the month of January, our LAP staff will be doing our winter benchmark testing. The purpose of this quick assessment is to check the progress of our students’ basic reading and math skills. Information gathered from our benchmark testing will inform our instructional practices for the coming months.
Midland is a Kids at Hope school and one of our values is that we plan for the future to determine the skills we need to be successful. We want our students to know where they are with learning the standards, and then we help them to progress so they can be successful. Although our teachers do not send home “new learning” for homework, you can certainly help your student to achieve success by keeping or starting some new year habits. Midland students should be reading (or being read to) for at least 20 minutes each night. Additionally, kindergarten students should be counting to 100, first and second grade students should be learning their addition and subtraction facts, third grade students should know their multiplication facts, and our fourth and fifth grade students should be mastering multi-digit multiplication and division. Your support of these learning goals will help your child to succeed in the coming year!
It's great to be a MUSTANG!
💗 Ms. Frederick

Their duties include setting the vision and mission of education in the district; establishing policy; adopting an annual budget; approving all expenditures; employment of personnel; curriculum, textbooks and courses; and deciding on school sites, building plans, and construction. We also want to thank our student representatives: Kaden Mills, Payton Ortiz, and Christian Cager.

Important Information from the Nurse
Dear Parents and Guardians,
This is a reminder from the health room: if your student has borrowed any clothing this year, please ensure that it is returned with them. Our supply is extremely low, so if your child has a need for clothes during the school day, we will likely have to call you to bring clothes from home if they do not have extra clothes in their backpack.
We kindly ask that you always send your student with an emergency pair of clothing in their backpack, in case of urgent situations.
Thank you for your cooperation and support!
