Together, we are The 1104!
Our Vision: Empowering the lives of our learners.
Why "The 1104"
Our street address is 1104 Balboa Avenue. In 2018, Hurricane Michael destroyed 2 of our buildings and our current buildings needed to be stripped to the 2 x 4s. When we were able to reopen our buildings, we wanted our staff and students to have pride in our new school building, so we identified the community of our school as The 1104. We have a celebration each November 4th - "1104 Day" to celebrate our school; we also end our school morning show "Together, we are The 1104". Whenever we refer to our school community, we use "The 1104".
Hello families!
We are off to a great start at The 1104! Our teachers, staff, and learners have be setttling into our procedures and routines and schoolwide expectations. What makes the building even more excited is the news that both Palm Bay Elementary and Palm Bay Prep received a school grade of "B" for the 2023-24 school year! We are so proud of our students performance on their Spring FAST assessments and our teachers who instructed them so well. We "B"elieve in the PAlm BAy WAY - on our way from B to A.
Thank you all for always supporting us and believing in the work we do at Palm Bay.
Humbly yours,
~ Patty Phillips

i-Ready testing begins August 26th
Palm Bay Schools use i-Ready, an online program for reading and mathematics that will help your child’s teacher(s) determine your child’s needs, personalize their learning, and monitor progress throughout the school year. i-Ready allows your teacher(s) to meet your child exactly where they are and provides data to increase your child's learning gains. i-Ready consists of two parts: Diagnostic and Personalized Instruction.
The diagnostic will be given at the beginning, middle, and end of the year.
Here is our beginning of the year schedule (testing will be in the mornings):

The FAST is aligned with the Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.), and is designed to help teachers identify areas of weakness and make data-driven decisions.
