Hello Falcon Zone ~
The FHS Homecoming Parade is taking place on October 5th at 10 am! Please see below for more information and a QR code to enter a float or group into the event!
Bubbas33 (Powers & Constitution) will be hosting a Dine to Donate event on Monday, 9/16. Take your family out for a yummy dinner and mention the FZ Community Closet & Pantry Fundraiser. These fundraisers help the pantry stay afloat and perishable foods for families in need (milk, eggs, lunch mat, yogurt, etc) can be purchased. Your support is ALWAYS appreciated!
We had a great turn-out at our first Falcon Zone SAC meeting. Our next meeting will be held November 7th at Bennett Ranch Elementary - hope to see you there!
If you have not applied for free or reduced status yet, please review the information below to do so. This is something that has to be applied for each year. Although school lunches are free for everyone, gaining free or reduced status will eliminate or lessen other school, class, and athletic fees. There are other benefits outside of school that families who qualify can receive.

Empowering Moments
From Superintendent Smith...
Our Tornado Staff demonstrated Grit by digging into their data and finding the specific strategies that would meet individual student learning needs. This helped to close achievement gaps and move students to higher levels of performance. Teams at WHES used Networking to collaborate and share best instructional strategies with each other to elevate what was taking place in the classroom. There is a high level of Integrity as teams at WHES demonstrated levels of trust and accountability in support of their academic mission. Self-Confidence was promoted with all of our Tornado learners as staff motivated students to perform their best on CMAS (there was even a rap song by our Tornado Principal Bethany Stegman to get students excited about doing their best). And, when the results came in, our Tornado students demonstrated higher academic achievement with their Wisdom in Reading, Writing, Math, and Science.
Falcon Zone is excited to celebrate Woodmen Hills on this awesome accomplishment! Our leaders throughout the zone are collaborating together to learn more here, and share strategies, so that all of our schools can elevate performance further and reach this distinction level.
Congratulations Woodmen Hills Elementary School! We are very proud of you!

Mr. Hall's Social Studies students worked to complete an exit ticket for class. Exit tickets are a quick check for understanding that help Mr. Hall plan for his next class and quickly assess proficiency. All student work is loaded into Schoology so students can organize and keep track of their assignments and due dates.
Mrs. Wilbur's 5th grade students independently navigate learning plans to learn more about context clues while she pulls small groups to help students that may need extra support. Student shared that they love their learning plans because they are fun and they get to choose what they work on to show what they know!
Ms. Beadles 5th grade class worked together at the beginning of the year to create their classroom vision using the zone's new Portrait of a Graduate WINGS acronym. Students reviewed their class vision during their morning meeting and shared how they were going to show Wisdom, Integrity, Networking, Grit and Self-Confidence throughout their day!
