New school year coming soon!
We can't wait to see all students back on August 13
LISA Academy has several new and exciting updates for the 2024-25 school year!
Largest Charter School System in Arkansas
Proudly serving 4,500 students statewide across 13 campuses
Dear LISA Family,
I am honored to introduce a new outline for LISA Academy academics and operations we call LISA 2.0. This is LISA Academy’s esteemed 20th year as a charter school, and we like to stay current and follow new technological advances and academic developments; this is our “one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind” as Neil Armstrong said. This leap will be felt in the next 20 years of our dear charter school system.
We begin with STEM-C, our original STEM focus plus Computing, to include AI and computer technologies. This adaptability is reflected in our Strategic Plan and 5-Year Intended Impact Goals, where LISA Academy scales its impact across Arkansas to become a model charter school state and nationwide.
Research has shown that students with STEM-C careers earn over double the median wage as non-STEM-C occupations, and there is a rapidly growing demand for these occupations in the workforce. LISA Academy's goal is to prepare graduates for success in the 21st Century, and many of our alumni can already attest to this.
We have these high expectations for our scholars and feel we can better prepare them for the future if they all have access to accelerated courses. We will offer high school level courses to all middle school students, so that when students reach high school, they may take college level and concurrent courses to be ahead in their secondary education plans. This will put LISA graduates far ahead in their college and career paths.
LISA Academy is not only making academic advancements but also upgrades in all departments. I am grateful to senior leadership who generated these ideas and have worked together to implement them.
I also appreciate the support from the community, including parents and caregivers, students, and staff members. I have good wishes for the perception of this plan and hope everyone shares my excitement in LISA Academy taking our its path that others will soon follow and be inspired by.
LISA Academy is unique, and each person who contributes to our schools creates this uniqueness. You are appreciated.
Best regards,
Dr. Fatih Bogrek
Superintendent/CEO
New Innovations This Year
LISA Academy has several new additions and features in its 20th year.
- Construction on new high school campuses will continue in Rogers-Bentonville and Fayetteville. The new Rogers-Bentonville high school campus will open in Fall of 2025 and the Fayetteville campus will expand to K-12 in Fall of 2026.
- LISA Academy will now have tiered graduation plans: Honors, Advanced, and Standard. This is in place to challenge every student so they may take at least 1 AP course, meet a certain GPA, and explore class offerings such as career pathways, PLTW courses, internships, and industry certifications. View the LISA 2.0 Program Model for more information.
- Every student in 1st through 5th grade will participate in STEM-C classes on a weekly basis
- The position Assistant Director of College and Career was added in order to support high school students across the district in their college applications, FAFSA, ACT testing, and other endeavors. This position will also serve alumni at a larger capacity than ever, offering support as scholars move into secondary education and careers.
- LISA Academy has plans to open an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center to introduce students, teachers, and parents to AI. All students will have access to the platform Magic School, which will allow them to safely explore the world of AI. Potential activities include an AI Club, workshops, guest speakers on AI, and AI integration into curriculum.
- Campuses are now able to request buses for school sponsored activities and field trips in Central and Northwest Arkansas.
