Ms. Benningfield, Lower Campus
Ms. Munves, Upper Campus
We have had a wonderful first three weeks at Upper Campus and I hope that everyone enjoys the 3-day weekend! The most valuable tool that we have to support our students is time. September is Attendance Awareness Month and our district has lots of fun dress-up days on Wednesdays to raise awareness for the importance of attendance. Please have conversations with your students and support us by ensuring your student arrives at school on time and attends school every day. When you need to schedule appointments during the instructional day, we strongly recommend that you vary appointment time throughout the day so that students are not missing the same course or content. We are also excited to share that Upper Campus will recognize students with perfect attendance with an on-campus celebration at the end of the first quarter. Thank you for partnering with us so that we can maximize the time we have with every student, every day.

Meet Our Assistant Principal
Hello Bison Families!
I am so excited to start another wonderful year with you here at Rosemont Lower. My name is Merari Garcia and this is my second year serving as Assistant Principal with the Rosemont community and my 11th year serving in Dallas ISD. It is a privilege to be a part of all of the great things happening in our community and I wanted to take this opportunity to share some of the services I provide to the campus.
One of my major roles is as the Student Support Team Administrator. The Student Support Team is a team made up of a parent/guardian, classroom teacher, and administrator and we bring the team together when the parent/guardian and/or classroom teacher has concerns around the academic, behavioral, or mental well being of a student so together we can develop a plan to best support the needs of the student.
Another role I have is as the Section 504 Chairperson. Section 504 is a federal law designed to protect the rights of individuals with health-related disabilities or impairments. If your child has a health related disability that impacts their day-to-day learning, please reach out to me directly so that we can put a plan in place to best support the needs of your student.
The last role that I want to share is as the Attendance Administrator. We have two attendance committees here at Rosemont Lower; they are the Attendance for Credit Committee and the Truancy Committee. Both of these committees track student attendance and make decisions that will best meet the needs of the students at our campus, however, both committees track attendance in different ways. Please continue to provide excuse notes any time students are absent full or partial days so that when our committees meet, we make decisions that best meet the needs of our students.
If you have any questions about the roles that I serve in or any other roles that I have here at Rosemont Lower, please do not hesitate to reach out and let me know. We are always happy to hear from you!
Meet Our Counselor
My name is Ms. Doss, and I am your child’s school counselor at Rosemont Lower. My role as the school counselor is to create and implement a comprehensive school counseling program consisting of guidance curriculum, individual planning, responsive services, and system support that supports the academic, college and career, and social emotional development of ALL students.
My goal is to ensure that all students at Rosemont Lower have the attitudes, knowledge, and skills to be successful. To ensure that students are gaining the necessary tools to be successful, I provide valuable services to our students. I provide schoolwide activities throughout the school year in the areas of academic, college and career, and social emotional developments. I work with ALL students monthly in their classrooms and teach developmentally appropriate lessons on topics, such as friendship, trustworthiness, respect, responsible decision-making, wellness, self-esteem, bullying prevention, college and career readiness, test anxiety, and many more topics. I provide individual counseling and group counseling/lunch bunch groups for students. Additional services include consultations and collaboration with school staff and families and referrals and resources for outside agencies.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me for any questions or concerns that you may have. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year and connecting with Rosemont families to ensure that your child has a successful and positive school experience!
