The Bulldog Bulletin

Our School Leadership Team is looking for additional parents to become a part of the decision making processes here at DMS. Thank you to the four parents we currently have on the team!! Now we are looking for one 6th grade parent and one 8th grade parent to attend our monthly meetings on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 3:30 - 4:00 pm, either here in person or virtually. We believe in a partnership between parents and the staff here and if you are interested in being a part of the team, please scan the QR code and send us your information. We look forward to strong collaborations!

For the remainder of the school year, we are trying to have more parents visit campus, and one way is to come have lunch with your student. On Wednesdays, we will have an area set up for parents to have lunch with their student(s). You can bring them lunch as a surprise or just come during their lunch period to share some time with them while they are on campus. Lunch times are below:

6th - 10:42 - 11:12 am

7th - 11:20 - 11:50 am

8th - 12:00 - 12:30 pm

According to Reading Rockets, a national public media literacy initiative,

"One motivating, engaging, and inexpensive way to help build the foundational reading skills of students is through the use of closed-captioned and subtitled television shows and movies. These supports can help boost foundational reading skills, such as phonics, word recognition, and fluency."

Please take a minute to activate the closed captions for your student while they are watching TV. Lets work together to expand their vocabularies!
