Overnight Information
Here at the Fort Worth Zoo we greatly enjoy being able to offer our overnight programming to a great group of people, and that includes you! We want our overnight evenings to go as smooth as possible for everyone! There are a few things we want to let you know to make your overnight experience the best possible event:
* When you arrive you will meet at the Education Center Cabana inside the parking lot, to the far right of the ticket booth. This will be at 6:30. Your counselors will guide you from there.
* Please understand - no unescorted youth will be allowed to attend. Please make sure you have at least one adult leader for every six children.
* Minimum age for an overnight for all participants is 6 years old.
* You will need to bring the following items: sleeping bag / pillow, pajamas, toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, facial soap) clothes for the next morning, jacket or sweater in case it's cool. Remember, we will be out in the Zoo during the evening and early morning. The Overnight will be held, rain or shine, warm or cold, so please make sure you dress / pack accordingly. Adults if you could bring a flashlight you will use it during the evening tour.
* You will be sleeping in the Education Building’s classrooms. If you want some extra padding between yourself and the floor, feel free to bring blankets or a foam pad. If you choose to bring an air mattress please bring twin size only, keeping in mind you are all sharing the space and it could get crowded quick.
* There will be a moderate amount of activity - the evening tour ranges over a great deal of the Zoo, and the morning hike will cover even more!
* We plan to have pizza delivered for dinner. We will also have lemonade and water to drink.
* Special diets will not be provided, participants who require a special diet may bring their own food.
* There will be a great number of things going on that you just might want to photograph. Some animal photography will be available during the evening, though most of our animals are resting in their evening enclosures.
* There will be no need for extra monies during the event, but the Safari Shop will be open when your group is released into the Zoo in the morning. This should be between 10, and 10:30.
* Dinner, evening snacks, and breakfast will be provided. If you need to bring additional food because of dietary restrictions or health reasons feel free to do so.
* Overnights will happen rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather overnight groups are expected to dress appropriately.
