Principal's Message
Greetings, Ericson Families,
Students are settling in to the routines of school and showing their Leader in Me Habits. We have seen a lot of VIP tickets turned in from students who received them for demonstrating the Leader in Me Habits throughout the school day. We are looking forward to our next Spirit Assembly where we will randomly draw names from each grade level's VIP bin for Pizza with the Principal.
The Viking Volunteer Committee is a wonderful way to actively engage in Ericson. However, there are other opportunities as well for families to get involved. We will be holding upcoming elections for School Governance Team (SGT), School Site Council (SSC), English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC). Please be on the look out for emails with information and opportunities to join our SSC, SGT, and ELAC.
We hope you all are enjoying Labor Day weekend and look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday for another great week of school.

Counselor's Update
This week at Ericson, our incredible students worked hard during their counseling lessons with Mr. Z. Kindergarten students read "This is a School" and practiced sharing out in a circle. 1st graders learned how to be great listeners and helped Mr. Snail with his bad behavior. 2nd grade students read "Eyes that Kiss in the Corners" and watched a short film "Hair Love." 3rd grade students practiced having respectful conversations (parents - ask your students to try out what they learned). 4th graders learned about Empathy and what it means to truly support someone. 5th grade students discussed drama and gossip and the best ways to avoid/handle it. As always, please discuss with your students what they learned each week and see if they can show you what they learned.

If you require support with the TB Risk Assessment Questionnaire, the nurse hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10am-12pm.
