Greetings Marysville Family,
This week it's teacher appreciation week. We will be honoring all our teachers all week for all they do throughout the year. It's also the start of nurse appreciation week. Thanks to all the nurses for all they do. Students, tell your teachers "thanks" and if you happen to see Nurse Kathy, tell her the same. We appreciate you all!

Rockwell Competes at JAG Nationals
Addy Rockwell wrapped up an incredible trip to JAG Nationals in Indianapolis where she competed against students from 39 different states in career preparation. She had the opportunity to network and build relationships with students and adults from all over the country. Rockwell is grateful for this unforgettable experience and the help Ms. Gartner gave her over the course of the last year.
Turner awarded John Phillips Sousa Award
Grace Turner, senior, was awarded the John Phillips Sousa Award last Wednesday at the band's final concert of the year. The sixth grade, junior high, and high school bands all put on a wonderful concert in front of a nice crowd in the auditorium. The last band performance comes on May 18th at graduation which begins at 2:30 PM.
Haefele and Frese Win FBLA National Award
FBLA is excited to announce that Grant Haefele and Kate Frese have earned their FBLA National Business Achievement Contributor Award! This award involves students being introduced to the foundations of FBLA and learning how to best take advantage of the opportunities available to members. It was an extensive process, and we are proud of them!
Marysville FBLA Wins Award
The Marysville FBLA Chapter is excited to announce that they have won the National Champion Chapter CTE Celebration Award! This award focused on chapter excellence and Career and Technical Education awareness activities.
Group Presents to BVT on D.C. STEM Trip
The Marysville FBLA DC STEM trip explorers presented information to Blue Valley Technologies highlighting our FBLA STEM focus for the 2024-2025 school year.

Marysville Invitational Track Meet
Vanessa Roesch finishes the final leg of the 4x800 relay at the Marysville Invitational Track Meet on Friday. The meet was cool and had one weather delay but athletes performed well. The track team has a busy week this week as they head to Nemaha Central on Tuesday and then to Sabetha on Thursday. Good luck!

Eighth Graders Shine in Wamego!
The Marysville Junior High School Band had sixteen students perform at the Wamego Solo and Small Ensemble Festival. The following ensemble received an “Excellent” “II” rating:
* The Marysville Wind Quintet: Emilyn Holle, Jenna Kossow, Jaimon Benjamin, Anna Scheele, Bristol Swearingen.
The following soloists received an “Excellent” “II”rating:
* Bristol Swearingen, Trumpet
* Eli Frese, Trumpet

* Jaimon Benjamin, French Horn
* Emma Friedrichs, Alto Saxophone

This is the Marysville Band Program’s last competition and/or festival of the year! Thank you to all the students for their hard work this year. Thank you to all of the parents of the students in band. Without your support, Marysville would not be able to have great students in band!
Sixth Graders Visit MJSHS Last Week
Junior High student Rylan Johnson gives sixth grade students the "lowdown" of what it's really like in Mrs. Johnson's classroom. Junior High Ambassadors gave sixth graders tours last week so they could be ready to "hit the ground running" when the next school year starts.

Highland Western Center Students Hands-On Learning
Mr. Friedrichs accompanied the Highland Western Center students to Baileyville last week to capture some of the activities. In addition to the construction, welding, and precision ag you see above, we also have students working in diesel mechanics. Tjaden, Johnson, and Lucas Jones all graduate from HWC this Friday.
