Gertie Belle Rogers Elementary
November 2024
A Note from the Principal's Office
Hello, November! We are already over a quarter of the way through our school year. It’s been wonderful to see our school community coming together with a shared commitment to positivity and success. In October, we focused on saying "No Bullies Allowed" and saw our students actively fostering an environment of respect, kindness, and resilience.
As we move into November, our Energy Bus rule of the month is Love Your Passengers. This month, we’re encouraging everyone to support one another with care, empathy, and encouragement. By loving our passengers—our friends, teachers, and families—we build a community where each of us feels valued and uplifted. At home, you can reinforce this message by talking with your child about ways to be thoughtful and supportive. Ask questions like, “What’s a kind thing you did today?” or “How did someone else make you feel special?” These conversations help students understand the importance of looking out for one another.
Thank you for being a part of this journey with us. Let’s keep spreading kindness throughout our school community!
Warm regards,
Mrs. Pierson
A Chill in the Air
The weather is getting cooler which means it is very important that your learner(s) come to school with weather appropriate gear! We go outside unless it is raining, or the wind chill drops below zero. All students are expected to go outside during recess. We have a very limited supply of mittens, hats, and coats for students to borrow. if you are in need of assistance obtaining such items, please reach out to The Caring Closet.
Safety Comes First! Please respect this request.
Every day after school, we've noticed that parents are parking in the bus zone repeatedly. While we know pick-up can be a busy time, we need to ensure the safety of all our students, staff, and visitors.
The bus zone is reserved for buses only, and it's crucial we keep it clear for safe loading and unloading.
Please plan to pick up your child outside our main entrance, where our team can supervise and ensure a smooth and safe dismissal process for everyone. Your cooperation helps us maintain a safe and organized environment for all our students—thank you for your understanding and support!
Thank you again for staying away from our bus loading zone.

Updates, please!
If you have had any changes in your contact information (mailing address, phone number, etc.) please be sure to update this on the Parent Portal, or reach out to the GBR Office if you are unsure how to do so.
It is very important that we have the most up to date information available in the event we need to reach you via phone or mail. Thank you! 😁
Free & Reduced Lunch Applications Due ASAP! 🍴

There was a plethora of books, posters, and novelty items to choose from. Thanks for all of your hard work, Mrs. Gerlach! We truly appreciate you!
