Our Covington Open House will be held next Tuesday, September 6th. The event begins at 6:30 P.M. and lasts until 8:00 P.M. The evening is a chance for our Covington families to see the building and meet the staff that work with your students on a daily basis. Classroom teachers will be welcoming families to their rooms which will include a presentation. Each classroom teacher will have two presentations (approximately 20 minutes)with one beginning at 6:45 P.M. and another at 7:20 P.M.

Additionally, all other staff - Encore Staff, Social Worker, Counselor, LST, MST, Resource, Title I Interventionist, Speech, and ELT - will be available to meet in our multipurpose room.

As one aspect of working to create a safe school environment, we have Emergency Drill plans in place and we practice those with our students throughout the school year. These Drills include Fire Drill, Tornado Drill, Lockdown Drill, and Bus Evacuation Drill. We practice these to ensure that in the case of an emergency, our students and staff are aware of what we can do to address the emergency safely.

On Thursday, September 8th, we will be practicing a Bus Evacuation Drill, Tornado Drill, Fire Drill, and a Lockdown Drill. Our staff will be talking to the students about them prior to that date and discussing the importance of being safe as well as what the expectations are of each.

Spirit Wear flyers were distributed to students on Monday, August 22nd. Please note that all orders are due by Wednesday, September 7th. All orders must be submitted online at the the following link: https://covington22.itemorder.com/shop/home/

Room Representative Volunteer Forms went out on Friday, August 19th. They are are due back by Tuesday, September 6th. Please be sure to read through the Role Description located on the back of the form to understand more about what the role entails.

The Scholastic Book Fair is right around the corner. The Book Fair will be open to students on Wednesday, September 14th and Thursday, September 15th. Family can start setting up e-wallets for their children online via our Book Fair website. Families can also share the link with other family members to add funds to the e-wallet accounts.
