LEARNING HIGHLIGHTS
This marked the last full week of school, and it was packed with fun and learning! In Pre-K the gardening unit continued. Students explored the concepts of ripe and unripe fruits and vegetables, and discussed how gardens benefit people and the environment. They enjoyed reading "Tops and Bottoms" and "The Very Hungry Caterpillar," and practiced a letter a day in Fundations. Students continued to hone fine motor skills with a counting stickers worksheet and drawing of a Mat Man. They also started talking about summer and created a special gift for a loved one! ππ

This week was especially productive for Kindergarten students! In Fundations, they read and wrote sentences with fluency. They are becoming increasingly more skilled at distinguishing between narrative fiction and informational books. During Readers' Workshop, they enjoyed reading playdates and games with their books, while Writers' Workshop focused on using details to elaborate their writing. In Math, they explored weight with a pan balance, measured time in seconds, and practiced "doubles" addition facts. Social Studies included learning about maps and drawing themselves on one, and in Science, they identified ways to stay safe during summer activities in the neighborhood.
Wishing all of our fathers and father figures a very Happy Father's Day! πβ³β΅

NEW SCHOOL LOGO
We are excited to share with you our new school logo! As mentioned in the May issue of The NEWS Letter, the district is working to develop a more consistent and professional look across all 10 schools. First, research was done into the existing school logos, all independently created over the years and of varied designs. The district then worked with a graphic designer to preserve each school's unique identity while connecting the school logos to the refreshed district logo as a whole.
JOIN THE PTO EXECUTIVE BOARD IN 2024-25
A Message from the Lincoln School PTO:
The PTO is a fun and rewarding way to be a vibrant part of our Lincoln family. No experience required! This is a great opportunity to get involved, to help make a great year for your Lincoln student, and to meet other parents!
We are gathering interest now for roles on the Lincoln PTO Executive Board for next year. The board meets once a month, either virtually or in person. Much of the work is done independently between meetings, and the time commitment required ebbs and flows through the year.
Committees and Class Parent volunteer sign-ups will be separately sent in the fall and are other opportunities to get involved.
Click below to see descriptions of Executive Board roles, and submit your interest now!
FROM THE DISTRICT
As we prepare to head off into summer, this is a friendly reminder that parents/guardians will receive an email in mid-August with a link to the 2024-2025 Back-to-School Packet of required forms. You must complete these electronic forms before gaining access to your child(ren)'s class assignments/schedule in the Genesis Parent Portal. Finalized class assignments for the 2024-2025 academic year will become available in late August.
