Principal's Message
Dear NISL Families,
We are thrilled to recognize the students who excelled in our In-School Arabic Spelling Bee competition! Their dedication to learning and love for the Arabic language is truly commendable. Congratulations to Our 2025 Arabic Spelling Bee Champions!
This event was more than just a competition—it was an opportunity for our students to strengthen their Arabic language skills, which are essential for their success in this life and the Hereafter. Arabic is the language of the Quran, and by building their proficiency, our students take an important step toward understanding and connecting with the words of Allah SWT. Mastering Arabic will not only help them in their study of Islam and learning the Quran but will also enhance their ability to engage with Islamic knowledge throughout their lives.
Selected students from the In-School Arabic Spelling Bee will go on to represent NISL at the national level at the National Arabic Spelling Bee (NASB), hosted by the Council of Islamic Schools of North America (CISNA)!
The NASB competition will be conducted online, with one student representing several grade levels on different Sundays throughout February. We are incredibly proud of our students and look forward to seeing them showcase their Arabic skills on a national platform!
We are proud of all students who took part in this event ! Thank you to our teachers for encouraging participation and celebrating student achievements.
Science Fair Success!
Our In-School Science Fair on February 12 was a great success! Our students did an amazing job presenting their projects to our nine guest judges from the community. Their hard work, creativity, and dedication to scientific exploration were truly inspiring!
We want to extend a huge thank you to all the parents and community members who came to view the projects and support our students. We also sincerely appreciate our teachers for their hard work in guiding and preparing students for this event. A special thank you goes to Ms. Matrid Ndife, our middle school science teacher and Science Fair Lead, for organizing the event and ensuring everything ran smoothly.
A heartfelt thank you as well to our guest judges, who took the time out of their busy schedules to engage with our students and evaluate their projects.
Winners will be announced, and awards will be given out on Monday, February 24th! Stay tuned for the results!
We are incredibly proud of all our students and their achievements. Thank you for your continued support in fostering a love for learning in our school community.
Sincerely,
Natalia Aisha Blagaia

- Sr. Nour A. Watching her starting extra job at carline in the morning before going to a big journey of exceeding more than 25 students of KG for the sake of giving a break to a colleague everyday-this is an amazing sacrifice in addition to her great talents in class management and exceptional student achievements! (Sr. Wisal)
- Sr. Khadija for her extraordinary help and dedication! She puts her heart into everything she does, is a very amazing helper, and helps maintain both classroom behavior and academics. Sr. Fatima B. Thank you for collecting all the field trip cash, while juggling between opening the door, taking phone calls, answering parents- sometimes impatient sometimes irate, and all the science fair boards sale, especially at the dismissal time. You took the first year of training head-on! Nailed it! (Br. Ammar)
All teachers for being flexible with the Science Fair schedule and trying your best every day! (Br. Ammar)

Ms. Kristen for taking risks and taking the lead in starting a book club in her 3rd grade classroom! Go Ms. K! (Sr. Zainab)
Sr. Fazeena for multi-tasking and multi-purpose support. She substitutes for teachers when they are out, ensures safety, and lends a hand without being asked! I cannot image the school running smoothly without your sincerity and service, mashaAllah! (Sr. Zainab)
Sr. Amani and Sr. Walaa for extra special touches to their newsletter sections. Those little touches make reading your objectives fun and memorable! (Sr. Zainab)

Often, the letter before will be an empty-mouth letter. It is a common mistake to make the letter full as well when it should be empty; for example, the ىَ in سَيَصْلىٰ should be empty mouth.
