Week 4 Term 2 2022
We are indeed very fortunate to have had these expectant Māmas with us this year, however the time is nearing that they go off and prepare for a new chapter in their lives. Koron leaves us at the end of week 6, Friday 10 June and Katherine is leaving at the end of Term 2 - Friday 8 July to start their Maternity Leave. We really do appreciate the contribution that these two wonderful educators make to IPS and we look forward to their return.
With that said, we would like to welcome Ms Portia Richmond to our whanau. Portia will commence full time teaching in what will be known as Tokomaru Richmond, Monday 13 June, through to the end of the year. 2022. Portia is currently working alongside Koron and getting to know our tamariki.
We are really delighted to announce that Whaea Kirst O"Carroll-Makiri will be fulltime teaching in what will be Waiongana Iti O'Caroll-Makiri. Whaea Kirst will officially start Monday 25 July, through to the end of the year, however is currently working alongside Ms Banks for the rest of the term. The transition with Whaea Kirst moving into this role will be seamless as Whaea has been in our school and wider community for years and already has strong connections and positive relationships with our tamariki and whānau. Ka rawe Whaea.
The good news continues... with a final announcement that we are fully supported by the Board of Trustees by being able to employ another Junior Teacher to work within the Panitahi Whānau to open a new class starting Monday 25 July through to the end of the year. We welcome Mrs Marinda Van Dyk to our IPS Whānau. Marinda will work in the teaching space next to Moa iti Smith. Rebecca Smith and Marinda will teach our New Entrants. This means the other three classes can stay with relatively low numbers of tamariki through to the end of the year. The New Entrants which we have pre-enrolled for terms three and four will come in and have low ratios within their teaching space also. Marinda comes with years of experience and expertise and we are very excited to welcome her to the team. We are also very grateful to our Board of Trustees for their full support in all of these appointments.
