Dear Peirce Families,

The 2024-2025 school year has arrived, and we are ready! Our faculty and staff had a great week of professional learning and teachers worked really hard preparing the building to welcome 1,042 students for their first school day (Monday, August 26). At our opening of school meeting, Peirce Middle School won the spirit competition-Special thanks to Mr. Gonzalez for taking the lead in the Charger costume!

Final bus letters were released on Thursday, August 22 through the portal. I would recommend arriving at your stop a few minutes early as the bus run times are refined over the first few days. Students will receive a copy of their schedule in homeroom, and we will use a modified bell schedule to support the transition back to school. As reminder, all students should bring their computers with them on the first day (charged).

Also, The West Chester Area School District uses an online process to complete your Back-to-School information accessible via our PowerSchool Parent Portal. This is a secure and green system that allows the district to verify all demographic information for students. If you have not completed this for your student, please click here to do so.

Lastly, Peirce Middle School will host open house for parents and guardians on two separate nights. 6th grade open house will take on Thursday, September 5 and 7th & 8th grade open house on Thursday, September 12. Both will have a 6:30 p.m. start time. Please see the attached invitations below.

Rising 7th and 8th grade students will have the opportunity to try out for several PIAA sanctioned sports in the fall for Peirce Middle School (Football, Soccer, Volleyball, Cross Country, and Field Hockey). Prior to trying out, students are required to have a completed sports physical. Most fall sports begin on the 2nd day of school (Football will start one week earlier-schedule below). In previous years, students would turn those physicals into the main office or the coach. Next school year, all middle school families in the West Chester Area School District will now be able to complete the PIAA physical registration information required for sports participation online through Arbiter Registration (familyid.com). Please see the attached letter from Mr. Virgilio, Athletic Director at Peirce Middle School. I have also attached the PIAA physical form required for the examination. Please feel free to reach out to Mr. Virgilio (SVIRGILIO@wcasd.k12.pa.us) with any questions about the process.

Attending a Henderson High School athletic event this fall? Please see some important updates regarding spectator admission to events that require an admission fee, as well as guidelines for attending all Henderson athletic events. Please note, Henderson High School will no longer accept cash sales for admission into Henderson Athletic contests. Please see below for important information regarding this change.

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine is offering a free membership to any student in 7th grade. Please access the link here for additional information.
