Spanish classes had a fun Día de Muertos celebration today, complete with Pan de Muerto, yummy Mexican snacks, marigolds, and photos honoring those that have passed.

Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. this Sunday, November 3.

Students will dismiss early from school on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

Dismissal is as follows:

UPPER SCHOOL: 11:30 a.m.

GRADE 6: 11:45 a.m.

LOWER SCHOOL: 12:00 a.m.

YOUNGER SIBLINGS MAY DISMISS AT THE SAME TIME AS THEIR OLDER SIBLINGS.

NOTE: THERE ARE NO LUNCHES ON EARLY DISMISSAL DAYS.

This meeting will include planning for the Thanksgiving Feast on November 22nd, planning for the Holiday Open House on December 20th, & brainstorming fundraising ideas for our musical, Willy Wonka, Jr.

School picture day has been changed to Monday, December 2, 2024. As the date nears, a flyer will be emailed and sent home with students.

In art class, Harvey Homeschool students created scarecrows.

Making scarecrows required students to use fine motor skills to wrap, tie, and glue twine and other materials together. Some students even added burlap leaves as wings because they wanted to create a superhero scarecrow that could fly.

On Tuesday, the sixth graders went on a field trip to Home Depot with Mrs. Sawyer to purchase plants for the planters on the Lower School balcony.

All students proudly represented The Harvey Academy, and they were even complimented on their behavior by Home Depot employees.
