We are excited to remind you about the ongoing availability of a valuable service at our Family Resource Centers in partnership with the University of Arizona known as Talk It Out. This free counseling service is open to all enrolled students of the Tucson Unified School District (TUSD), their families, as well as TUSD staff. We understand that life can present various challenges, and we are here to support you on your journey towards emotional well-being. Whether you are a student, a parent, or a staff member, we encourage you to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.
School Highlight: Science Night at Sabino High School
Sabino hosted its annual "Bruce Johnson" Science Night on November 14th, honoring original Chemistry teacher Bruce Johnson, who still volunteers on the Family Engagement Team. The event welcomed Sabino High School students and parents, along with families from other schools. Attendees enjoyed interacting with reptiles from Tucson's Reptile Rescue and observing celestial objects through powerful telescopes provided by the Tucson Astronomy Club. Additionally, the University of Arizona showcased a popular Chemistry "Magic Show" and engaging displays from the Geology Club. Sabino's Science staff facilitated hands-on activities, allowing students to create miniature microscopes and take-home various science projects. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this fantastic event!
Community Partner Spotlight | Educational Enrichment Foundation
This month, we are proud to honor the Educational Enrichment Foundation, which plays a crucial role in expanding and enhancing student learning within the Tucson Unified School District. The Educational Education Foundation has been a valued partner of our Family Resource Centers, working tirelessly to connect us with resources that benefit our families. Thanks to their collaboration and partnership with Amazon, we have been able to provide essential hygiene products to families, making a significant impact across our family resource centers. We are immensely grateful for their support and dedication in helping us establish and maintain our hygiene pantries. The Educational Enrichment Foundation's unwavering commitment and efforts are truly commendable. We encourage everyone to visit their website at https://www.eeftucson.org/ to learn more about their mission, upcoming events, and opportunities to get involved.
