Blaise Pascal lived in the mid-1600's and was an influential French physicist, philosopher mathematician and inventor. He's well known for his work in probability and fluid mechanics and folks like me who aren't great in math owe him a debt of gratitude because he invented on of the earliest mechanical calculators. While he's more famous for his academic works, what Pascal wrote about and thought about most was God. All his experimenting and searching was motivated by his desire to understand the Creator and his Son who reveals his glory. Just as Jesus came into the world to reveal God to humanity, Young Life leaders are going into the world of kids to help those who are searching arrive at the same conclusion Pascal did - that faith in Jesus makes everything make sense.
As Christmas and the end of 2024 approach, reflection reveals a lot to be grateful for. Here are a few B-PV Young Life highlights:
IMPACT…
WyldLife Clubs have been happening twice a month this year and it's been great to give kids and leaders more opportunities to share fun and faith. We continue to see new and old friends coming and to see Bulldogs and Spartans represented equally! Young Life Club has also kicked off as a joint effort between B-PV, Davenport and Moline and we're grateful to have friends to gather with across the Quad Cities!
PRAYER…
Committing to a weekly rhythm of prayer has helped us hear more clearly from the Lord and see his provision and action in our ministry. If you'd like to join our Prayer Team let us know! We meet (most) Wednesdays at noon at Vibrant Coffee Shop.
FINANCES…
If you've seen the camp flyer you know that busing is making our trips to Timber Wolf expensive! We don't want finances to be a burden to campers so we're grateful to have opportunities to fundraise! Thanks to everyone who participated in our new Whitey's Wisdom Campership Challenge and congratulations to Ben and Ashely who, thanks to generous donors, won Whitey's for a year! The flower sale will be here before we know it!
