St Elizabeth's News
NEWSLETTER | TERM 2 | WEEK 8 | 7 June 2024
Good afternoon parents and caregivers,
I hope everyone had a lovely, relaxing extra-long weekend and managed to enjoy some family time. On Tuesday, as a whole staff we ventured to Good Shepherd Catholic School in Kiara to participate in Berry Street Educational Model training. The Berry Street Education Model (BSEM) upskills staff, not matter what role the have in our school, with practical, classroom-based strategies to increase the engagement of all students. The model enables schools to support students’ self-regulation, relationships and wellbeing to increase student engagement and significantly improve academic achievement. One of our bold goals in our Strategic Direction Plan was to create calm, orderly and engaging places of teaching. The BSEM compliments our URStrong Wellbeing program and ensures that we are achieving our bold goal.
Wednesday was the official launch of the Archbishop’s LifeLink Day 2024. This year was the 25th anniversary of the initiative and I was honoured to be accompanied by our four Student Leaders, Erika, Donell, Faith and Axel, along with Mr Rebeiro to Newman College to participate in the official launch. Next Thursday, we will host ‘Pyjama Day for LifeLink’ where students are able to wear their pyjamas to school and asked to make a gold coin donation. All monies raised will be donated to LifeLink.
Please save the date for the St Anthony of Padua Parish, Wanneroo will be celebrating their 92nd Annual Festival and Procession which will be held on Sunday, June 16. St Elizabeth’s community will join with St Anthony’s School and the parish to form a celebratory procession starting at 2pm. It would be lovely to have a large sea of red as a strong representation of our school community in the procession.
Finally, another reminder regarding student drop off and pick up. Please be patient and ensure that you are entering the carpark safely and aware of your surroundings. Students should be dropped off and collected in Kiss and Drive, not in the driveway. Also, no student should be dropped off or collected near the front gate. Please park in the allocated bays. Thank you to those families that are adhering to the guidelines.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
God Bless
Rebecca Clarke
