Congratulations to our 2019-2020, 2020-2021award recipients! On May 19, 2021, the County Superintendent visited Flemington Raritan School District to honor the 2020 and 2021 Teacher and Educational Specialists of the Year. Represented in the photo are Special Services award recipients, inclusive of: teacher assistants, special education teachers, Child Study Team members, school nurses, and speech and language pathologists.

SEPAG Leadership Team: Thank you to those of you who volunteered for the SEPAG leadership team. This team is intended to: offer a school-based liaison to families and spread the word about SEPAG meetings, workshops and support group opportunities. We are still looking for a representative from Robert Hunter School. If you are interested, please email Dr. Hamblin @ dhamblin@frsd.k12.nj.us. Dr. Hamblin will be contacting parents who expressed interest with further information about upcoming dates for meetings.

SEPAG Distribution List: To receive email updates from SEPAG leadership, please reach out to Lauren Bielsi at lbielski0924@gmail.com. This is a great communication venue for upcoming parent workshops and support group sessions!

Parents of students who are eligible and who receive special education will receive a survey from the Department of Education in the postal mail for each child. The mailings are anticipated in August of 2021. The purpose of this survey is to gather information on how schools are supporting parent involvement in their child(ren)'s educational program. If you receive multiple surveys, you are encouraged to fill out each survey as each one is specific to an individual child. Preschool and school age surveys are different colors. This feedback is valuable as it provides a representative sample of parent involvement and feedback across the state of New Jersey. The data collected should be available by December 2021. If you have questions or need assistance with completing the survey, you may contact Danielle Marsh (dmarsh@frsd.k12.nj.us) or Marie Blaser (mblaser@frsd.k12.nj.us). We wish Bethann Harrington (school social worker) and Dan Tarantula (psychologist) well, and welcome new members to our team! Theresa Ferrara will be joining our Copper HIll and preschool team as a Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant and Marissa Geist will be joining our team as a school social worker at JPCase. In school year 2021-2022, the school-based team assignments will be posted over the summer and notification of your child's case manager will arrive via postal mail in August. We have a very small, district Child Study Team that works in the summer. If you have a question that requires attention prior to the staff's return on September 2-3rd, please email Dr. Hamblin: dhamblin@frsd.k12.nj.us.
