Welcome to FCPS School Board Highlights
We're excited to share with you regular updates on the important work being done by our School Board. We know how vital it is to stay connected to the decisions that shape our schools, and this newsletter aims to offer an overview of recent Board meetings.
February 25 School Board Special Meeting
- At the February 25 School Board Special meeting, the School Board adopted the FY26 budget.

February 18 School Board Meeting
- At the February 18 School Board meeting, the School Board approved two new administrative appointments, adjusted the 2024-25 calendar to recover lost instructional time for students and postponed approval of the budget to a future meeting.

Administrative Appointments
Director of Planning and Construction
Mr. Logan Sheppard transitions from the Director of Transportation to the Director of Planning and Construction. Before his role in Transportation, Sheppard was the Assistant Director of Student Support Services for one year, an Assistant Principal at Sherando High School for seven years and a teacher for six years. He has a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Master of Arts in Teaching from James Madison University, as well as an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from George Mason University.
Director of Special Instructional Services
Dr. Tabitha Reeves assumes the role of Director of Special Instructional Services. Reeves was named the Program Administrator at the Northwestern Regional Educational Program in 2022. Prior to that, Reeves served as the Assistant Program Administrator at NREP for four years and the Compliance Coordinator/Special Education Administrator for Virginia Beach City Public Schools for seven years. Additionally, she has eight years of teaching experience with Virginia Beach City Public Schools. Reeves holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Services Counseling and a Masters in Special Education from Old Dominion University, a Behavior Analysis credential from George Mason University, a Post Graduate Master's Certificate in Educational Leadership and Administration, and a Doctorate in Educational Administration and Policy from George Washington University.
