-Classroom Resources for Artificial Intelligence Literacy can be found here
-Teach AI: This toolkit is designed to help education authorities, school leaders, and teachers create thoughtful guidance to help their communities realize the potential benefits of incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) in primary and secondary education while understanding and mitigating the potential risks. Click here to access the toolkit.
-PerplexityAI: For teachers looking to leverage AI in their units to support inquiry.
-Diffit: helps educators instantly differentiate content with Al-powered tools. Create leveled texts, customize vocabulary, generate standards-aligned questions, and translate materials- all in seconds.
-Lesson Crafter: an educational tool powered by Al that allows educators to generate custom lesson plans for Minecraft Education.
-Adobe Firefly: A generative Al suite that helps creators generate images, videos, and audio from text prompts. Integrated into Adobe's Creative Cloud, it transforms ideas into high-quality content efficiently. LAUSD currently has access to the image generation tools.
-As always, please ensure your white board configuration (agenda, learning objective, language goal, etc) is posted and visible for everyone throughout the period, including the WASC Instructional Strategy that will be utilized for the lesson. The posted learning objective should outline how students will demonstrate their understanding of the learning objective. The posted language objective should aim to clarify the linguistic skills students will need to successfully meet the content objectives. Specify the academic vocabulary, types of explanations required (oral or written), and the linguistic structures or phrases students should use.
-Media literacy model lessons are available for classroom implementation. Please see the lesson sheet for more information.
-With Tutor.com's Dropoff Essay Review tool, students can submit their work and receive custom feedback in five rubric-based categories and in-line feedback on their written work. Each tutor spends between 30-35 minutes per student paper, and this feedback is visible to teachers via the Teacher Dashboard. This can be used as a way to support rough draft essay review.
-Observation Feedback is logged in the MyPGS system. Please note, you are to reply to feedback via the platform within 2 weeks of the observation. Your observation will be finalized once the response is received. In some cases, your department administrator will schedule an observation debrief to discuss the lesson observed.
-Adobe Firefly is a suite of generative AI tools developed by Adobe, designed to assist creators in generating images, videos, audio, and more from simple text prompts. Integrated seamlessly into Adobe's Creative Cloud suite, Firefly enables users to transform ideas into vibrant, high-quality content efficiently. Currently, LAUSD has access to the generative AI image tools.

Your participation not only enriches our programs but also strengthens the support network for our students—let’s work together to create a thriving environment for our children!
PARENT & CAREGIVER VIRTUAL SUPPORT GROUP
LAUSD invites you to a virtual support group for parents and caregivers of LGBTQ+ students. This group provides guidance on supporting your child's mental health, navigating school challenges, and accessing available resources. Join us to connect with other families and learn about the support services and community programs available to you.
BECOME A VOLUNTEER!
We invite you to join us as volunteers on campus! By becoming a volunteer, you can make a meaningful impact on our students and school community.
ENROLL IN LAUSD PARENT PORTAL
We invite you to visit our Parent Center to connect with our representative, Ms. Guillen, and gain access to the Parent Portal. This valuable resource provides you with real-time information about your child’s grades, attendance, and much more. Your engagement is crucial to your child’s success, and we’re here to support you every step of the way!
CULTURE OF CARE
Students, please remember that cell phones should not be used during class time, as we want everyone fully engaged in learning. Teachers, thank you for consistently enforcing our policy—if a student is caught using their phone after a warning, it will be placed in a pouch to avoid distractions. Let’s work together to keep our classrooms focused and productive!
Tardy Sweeps
Tardy sweeps are conducted to ensure all students arrive on time. We encourage everyone to be in class promptly, as being on time is crucial for maximizing learning and success. Arriving on time shows responsibility and ensures you don’t miss valuable instructional time. Let’s make punctuality a priority!
Tardy sweeps will be briefly paused for testing. Good luck Titans!
Titan News: Hall Pass & Restroom Reminders!
Titans, to help keep everyone on track and safe, remember that hall passes are available only 15 minutes before and after the bell rings. Restrooms will also be closed during these times. With our class periods being short, it’s important we stay in class to learn as much as possible. Please use passes quickly and responsibly so all students can benefit. Thank you for helping keep our school a positive, focused place for everyone!
ATTENDANCE MATTERS: EVERY DAY COUNTS
Elevate your Attendance, Elevate your Success!
Did you know that you can request transportation from the district? If you are consistently late to school due to transportation, you can opt-in to the school bus for the next school year. It is one of the safest ways to get to school!
The opt-in period ends May 30. Transportation requests are made via the Parent Portal. Visit the Transportation website or see Ms. Valdez for more details.
