Nonprofit ventures - Project Linus is a chapter of a non-profit organization that specializes in making and delivering handmade blankets across the valley to provide love, security, and comfort to children who are seriously ill and traumatized. It is also our mission to provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals, students, and groups in our local communities, for the benefit of the children.
Our event this year is on Saturday, October 12th. We will be located at College of the Canyon’s East Gym at 26455 Rockwell Canyon Rd, Santa Clarita, CA 91355. There will be food trucks at the event if you would like to purchase food!

Art Invitational Hosted by AOC Art Club
This is Visual Arts Club and we have a very exciting opportunity for all students! In cooperation with Dr. Fine and a professional muralist (who will be executing the final project), we will be designing a mural for the wall across from the water fountains inside our school. Not only will we be incorporating a new logo, which is already in creation by another incredibly talented student, but we are including all of you in the process of brainstorming. In this form, you can submit either in words or thumbnails any ideas for elements to be included.
To clarify: we are not looking for drafts of an entire piece - we want to synthesize as many concepts as possible into a kind of collage. Please keep your suggestions specifically relevant to things that define Academy of the Canyons: our symbols, core activities, values, etc. This is an ultimate culmination of school spirit and it will be cherished in our hall forever!
Deadline: Monday, October 21st
Senior Capstone Project and Message from Jaden Villanueva
NEW MASCOT + LOGO?
Hello, AOC families!
I’m Jaden, a senior at Academy of the Canyons. As part of my Senior Capstone Project, I’m working on a redesign of AOC’s current logo and visual identity. The project is called “AOC Forward.”
My aim is to involve AOC’s students, staff, faculty, alumni, and families, with the goal of enhancing our school spirit and community engagement. I’ve created a brief Google Form to gauge how our AOC community feels about the current logo. I hope you will participate and share your insight. The survey should only take a couple of minutes to complete.
Additionally, I encourage you to share this form with any family members who have attended AOC. Please help us spread the word!
Want to know the latest? Have questions or comments? Please follow this project on Instagram at @aoc.forward. Thank you!

Rosh Hashanah is on October 3rd and celebrates the Jewish new year, and like the secular new year, the most common greeting for the holiday is “Happy New Year.” Jews will often greet one another on the holiday with the rough Hebrew equivalent, shana tovah (pronounced shah-NAH toe-VAH), which literally means “good year.” To all of our students who celebrate, L'Shana Tovah. May you have a sweet new year!
