LCE Trail Guide
October 28th, 2024
Dear Liberty Creek Families,
We are thrilled to announce that, thanks to your incredible support, we reached our fundraising goal of $25,000! Your contributions will make a meaningful impact, allowing our students to enjoy enriching experiences, including exciting field trips, the Mobius Science Center’s on-site visit to explore their Planetarium, and additional family fun events planned throughout the school year. We couldn’t have done this without your support—thank you!
A special shout-out to TW Clark for their generous sponsorship of our student t-shirts this year! We’re so grateful for their partnership and commitment to our school community, making it possible for each of our students to show their Liberty Creek pride.
We are excited to announce that parent/teacher conferences are coming up this month, and we encourage every family to participate in your child’s educational success. On Friday, November 1st, you will receive an email from your child’s teacher with instructions to sign up for a time. Our goal is to have ALL of our families actively participating in these conferences, so let’s work together to make this a successful experience for all!
As we say goodbye to October and welcome November, we’re also preparing for colder days. Please remember to send your child to school dressed warmly with a winter coat, hat, gloves, snow boots, and snow pants. We will go outside for recess unless the wind chill or weather "feels like" 20 degrees or below, in which case students will stay inside. However, as temperatures often rise throughout the day, we’ll make every effort to go outside whenever possible, so please ensure your child is dressed appropriately.
With winter weather upon us, we kindly ask that you plan ahead when using our valet line. The valet opens at 8:45 AM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and at 9:45 AM on Thursdays. Please avoid waiting until the last minute, as our valet attendants stop servicing the line when the bell rings to attend to other responsibilities.
If you arrive after valet has closed, please park and walk your child inside to sign them in for the day.
Thank you again for your generosity and for helping keep our students safe and prepared for the coming months!
Warmly,
Alisha Alsaker

Attendance Matters
Thank you for your partnership and support!
We Need Your Help!
Our school improvement plan goal is to raise our daily attendance rate by an average of 3% each year over the next three years, aiming for a total increase of 9% by Spring 2027. For the 2024-2025 school year, this means our target is for at least 87% of students to have regular attendance, with less than 13% identified as chronically absent.
How can you support your student's attendance?
Regular attendance and arriving on time play a crucial role in a student's success. Every day in class builds important skills and connections, and when students miss even a few days, it can set them behind. When students show up on time, they’re better prepared to participate, learn, and grow alongside their classmates. Let’s work together to make sure every child has a strong start to each day and a successful school year!
October 28th: Trunk or Treat
October 29th: Community Showcase
October 31st: Halloween Parties
This year we will be having our Halloween party on Thursday, October 31st. Teachers will be communicating the time of the party in their class newsletters.
Students CAN wear their costume to school. Please make sure it is appropriate for school and it is easy for them to get off to use the bathroom. We ask ALL masks and weapons stay at home and DO NOT use face painting.
All treats MUST be store bought (please check for any allergies in your classroom). We also ask to check with the teacher before you send any treats.
All volunteers must be approved before participating in classroom activities, so please do not wait until the day of the event to seek approval, as we cannot process them quickly enough. Additionally, due to safety and space considerations, we can only accommodate a certain number of volunteers in each classroom at a time. We ask that you reach out to your child's classroom teacher prior to showing up on the day of the party.
November 5th: Veteran's Day Art Project
We will be offering an art project that focuses on Veteran's Day. If your child would like to participate, please click the sign up below as we have limited space.

Lunch Payment Progress
To simplify the lunch payment process, we ask that all payments be made online rather than in the school. This method is quicker and more secure, helping us keep transactions efficient, as well as allowing you to pay by credit card and not worry about cash making it to the office. Please visit https://www.cvsd.org/apps/pages/payments to make payments with no service charge. If you need your student’s ID number, please reach out to the office.
Birthday Invitations
As we celebrate our students’ birthdays, we want to ensure that every child feels included and valued. To promote a positive and supportive environment, we kindly ask that if you wish to send out birthday invitations, they should be addressed to the entire class. This helps foster inclusivity and prevents any feelings of exclusion among students.
If you choose to invite a small group of close friends, we appreciate it if those invitations are not handed out in school. This will help prevent any hurt feelings or exclusion among the other students. We are unable to pass out invitations for only select students, as it can lead to hurt feelings and is time-consuming for staff.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness in helping us create a sense of belonging for all our students. We truly appreciate your cooperation!
Facility Usage
We’re excited to announce the launch of CVSD’s new facility rental website, https://www.cvsd.org/FacilityUse! When our school facilities aren't being used for school activities or closed for maintenance, they’re available for public use. Whether you're hosting an event, practice, or meeting, our community-owned spaces are open to you!
Check out this short tutorial video and explore how you can book a CVSD facility rental today.
If you are looking for outdoor use, please contact the City of Liberty Lake as they manage our play field.
