Open House Wednesday, August 28

All Pre-K - 5 students and families are invited to attend Elm Creek Open House on Wednesday, August 28th 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. This is an exciting time for you and your child to meet your child’s teacher, visit the classroom and learn more about the Elm Creek community.

Classroom teachers will be sending an email on Tuesday, August 27th to notify you of your child’s classroom placement. Please make sure you have an updated email on file in ParentVue. If you need assistance updating your email or accessing ParentVue please contact Staci in the office at 763-425-0577 or email joness@district279.org.

You can do the following at Open House:

· Visit the Nurse to discuss health concerns and to drop off medications, if needed.

· Visit the office for ParentVue and Edutrak Connect information, if needed.

· Visit the cashier to put money into your child’s lunch account or use the online Edutrak Connect.

· Visit the Kidstop Room, if interested (located in Room B-1).

· Visit the PTO team, they will be available to share information.

· Visit Community groups in the cafeteria.

· Bring school supplies to put in your desk

Back to School Annual Verification on ParentVUE

We are eager to inform you that the Back-to-School Annual Verification forced registration feature will be enabled in ParentVUE starting Monday, August 26th. Historically, this function was activated in mid to late July. This year, the implementation was delayed due to system improvements based on feedback from various sites and families. We aimed to address the main concern of requiring data validation for students in their families that are not yet enrolled in our schools.

Families will need to complete the Back-to-School Annual Verification form in ParentVUE before accessing their accounts for information regarding students in the new academic year. This data collection helps us obtain up-to-date information on communication preferences, parent and emergency contacts, digital equity, health, and data privacy for our students and families.

New Parking Lot Walk Way Procedure

For safety reason we are adding tall cones with chains to prevent vehicles from driving over the walkway. If you choose to park and use the crosswalks please walk your child, using the walkway, from the parking space to the crosswalk that is controlled by staff and school patrol. Students should not be walking through the parking lot unattended for safety reasons. If you are unable to walk your child to the crosswalk please use the drop off lane instead. Student safety is our priority. Thank you for your cooperation with this new procedure.
