Punctuality
Punctuality is crucial for preparing students for future responsibilities; recent employer surveys consistently indicate that showing up to work on time is one of the most essential skills demanded in today's workforce.
Students who are consistently tardy will face disciplinary actions as outlined in our policy. These consequences begin with warnings and lunch detention, but may progress to in-school suspension, loss of parking/driving privileges, and even out-of-school suspension (for chronic tardiness).
At North Lincoln, we pride ourselves on preparing students for success beyond our school walls. We ask for your cooperation in ensuring your student arrives to each class on time each day. By working together, we can help students develop the very important like skill of showing up to work consistently and getting to work on time.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school administration.
Sports Booster Scholarship Opportunity
NLHS Sports Boosters Atheltic Scholarship 2024-2025: All applicants must have a parent or guardian who is a paid NLHS Sports Booster member or is sponsored by a member, a banner sponsor or corporate sponsor. Senior students are eligible only if they participate in Varsity athletics senior year. Students must use the money to further education and have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Up to ten finalists will interview with a panel of judges for the 2-$500 scholarships awarded to one female and one male student-athlete. Applications are due no later than April 15, 2025.
Knights Top Points of Information
- Students are expected to be across the threshold of the classroom door to be considered present. If not, they are marked tardy and will face consequences per our LCS Tardy Policy. If your child is having struggles getting to school by 8:00 each morning, you can contact Mr. Cranford regarding bus information.
- Students are not allowed to Door Dash/Uber Eats/etc. Student actions will be documented, and food will be disposed of by administration. This creates an unsafe environment, and disrupts the normal school processes and procedures.
- When leaving school early for any reason, students are required to present a note from a parent that the office can verify before leaving. Students and parents are required to sign out before leaving campus so we can accurately account for all students on campus. Students leaving campus without permission will face school consequences.
- If students do not have a class on campus and choose to be on campus during that peroid, they are to report to Room 48, our online classroom supervised by Mr. Tapp. Students should not be hanging out in our parking lots if they do not have a class.
- Students are not allowed to leave campus during their lunch period to go get fast food for lunch. If students are on campus for 3rd period, their class has a scheduled lunch period and students should report to the cafeteria for lunch. Students found leaving campus for lunch will receive school consequences for leaving campus without permission. Students may bring left over fast food from home for lunch. We are also asking that parents not Door Dash for students as well.
LCS Exam Exemption Policy
LCS EXAM EXEMPTION POLICY (https://boardpolicyonline.com/bl/?b=lincoln)
Regulation Code: 3400-R Evaluation of Student Progress
In order to encourage excellent attendance, a student may be exempt from teacher-made exams if he/she meets the following qualifications:
Course Grade
Number of Absences
Number of tardies
A, 4 or less absences, 4 or fewer tardies
B, 3 or less absences, 3 or fewer tardies
C, 2 or less absences, 2 or fewer tardies
Notes:
The issue of excused vs. unexcused absences is not considered in determining exam exemption. The number of absences, regardless of reason, the academic average, and cumulative tardies for the semester are the qualifying factors for exam exemption.
Assigned days in ISS (in-school suspension) or OSS (out-of-school suspension) are considered as absences under the exam exemption policy. All work missed because of absences should be made-up within five days of the absence.
If the student meets the above qualifications and desires to take the exam, the exam may improve but not diminish the student’s final grade. Neither required state tests nor Advanced Placement exams administered by the College Board be exempted.
