We have had a great last 5 weeks here at Dealey! Training and supporting children are our most substantial duties here on our campus. Children cannot grow and achieve academically, emotionally, or physically in toxic environments.
We are committed to a culture that successfully implements our Montessori principle of “Grace and Courtesy” Here at Dealey, we strive to create a respectful, courteous, and peaceful community that nourishes the growth of our Dealey dragons.🐉
Our Montessori students are thriving in their learning environments. As the year ends, I see a significant increase in their level of respect and support for their fellow students and staff.
In the Montessori classrooms, we are emphasizing respecting and celebrating the differences in others. On Monday, twins Annie & Mary Louise served as Principal for a Day. They exemplified respect for their classmates, staff, and campus throughout the entire day. Great Job ladies!
Last week, I had an opportunity to speak with some of our middle school students about end of year expectations. This included reviewing Ms. Powell’s existing theatre behavioral contracts for the Red and Oz productions. We also reviewed the middle school dance code of conduct with students and reiterated the importance of respecting yourself, others, and your environment.
On Friday, our Girl Talk Middle school girls presented to me a revised dress code for our campus. We had an amazing meeting and collaborated on acceptable and reasonable changes to our dress code. As a result of their respectfulness, we will allow a little more flexibility on free dress days.
On this campus, children are always given an opportunity to report and express their various concerns to staff members. All staff members are responsible for listening and resolving issues from a place of compassion and respect for all.

Middle School Dance Code of Conduct
This year the PTA middle school dance committee and campus administrators have collaborated on a student behavior contract. Every middle school student that is attending the dance, must sign the contract along with their parents. We look forward to an amazing middle school dance experience.
All Middle School Dance Contracts are Due Friday 4/26/24 to the Advisory teachers.
STAAR Testing Dates:
Please see the calendar and chart below for our April STAAR Testing Dates. We are asking that all students get a good nights sleep and arrive with a fully charged laptop on testing days. Thanks for your support!

Zero Tolerance Policy on Hate Speech
Our school mission states we provide an exemplary Montessori education that empowers all students to become productive citizens in our global society. Here at Dealey, we have a zero tolerance policy for any form of hate speech stemmed from negative biases. All students that are using any form (race, religious, etc.) are placed on mandatory in person parent conference and issued additional actions (consequences) in accordance with the Dallas ISD Student Code of Conduct. You will receive a notice from the Dealey Dignity Center regarding all discipline escalated to the Assistant Principal and/or Principal’s office.
A very special thank you to the parents that have already completed these mandated parent conferences. Your support is paramount and we look forward to our continued partnership with your family.

Theatre in Schools Month! (March)
The month of March is historically when we celebrate and talk about the power of #TheatreInOurSchools every single day. And yet, we can advocate for its inclusion all year long!
Join us and thousands of students and theatre educators to raise awareness of the benefits of theatre education. Together we can draw attention to the need for more access to theatre education for all students. Night time show times are coming soon. Theater will be wearing their shirts on Tuesday, Friday and all show.
