Marysville Message
May 24th, 2024
Dear Marysville Families
Happy long weekend. We look forward to seeing everyone back on Tuesday May 28th to start our last three weeks of the school year. We don't have many days left so it is important to have students here for every last day of learning.
The end of the year is full of wonderful celebrations. We are still having Pawsitive Ticket celebrations to recognize the respectful, responsible, rigorous and mindful behavior of our students.
We enjoyed the fabulous Talent Show performances this afternoon from some of our 3rd -5th grade students. Thank you to all of the brave students and to Catherine Tucker & Leslie for organizing the event. We were lucky again to have Mr. B as the best MC.
Next week we will continue the celebration with the Asian American Pacific Islander Native Hawaiian Celebration on Thursday afternoon.

Successful School Survey
Dear families,
We wanted to remind you that the Successful School Survey is open until May 31. The Successful Schools Survey is an opportunity for students, staff, and families to provide important feedback on their school environments, learning experiences, and sense of well-being and safety at school.
The survey is conducted once every school year to provide timely information to schools, district leadership, and the community, allowing us to make informed decisions about school climate and culture.
Portland Public Schools highly values the input and opinions of its families, and we welcome all PPS parents and guardians to complete this year’s survey. We use the data to help improve our schools, providing targeted feedback and training on how to create healthy school environments that are welcoming for all.
You can complete the Successful Schools Survey online using the link provided below. Please complete one survey per household. If you have more than one student at PPS, we ask that you complete the survey considering the experiences of your eldest child.
The survey will take approximately 15-30 minutes to complete and is available in English, Spanish, Russian, Somali, Vietnamese and Chinese.

Important School Hour Change for Next Year.
New for the 2024-2025 School Year:
All K-5 schools will have a student start time for K-5 @ 8:00 am and end time of 2:30 pm.
We know that this is a big change for Marysville families. Please start planning ahead for the time switch. The before and after care program will adjust to provide support and the YMCA will have more information about that for the families.
There will still be transportation for families living east of 82nd Ave and north of Powell Blvd.
The times for the bus routes next year will be available in August.
