Triduum and Easter Schedules
The Pascal Triduum
The celebration of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil make up what is known as the Paschal Triduum, the most solemn and sacred celebrations of the entire church year. These celebrations are in fact ONE liturgy spanning three days. Triduum comes from the Latin for "three days." Throughout these celebrations the mystery of faith unfolds.
Celebrating the Easter Season at Home
The Easter Season doesn't end on April 20! It continues for 50 days until Pentecost on June 8. Here are some ideas to keep the celebrations going.
- Resurrection Rolls: https://www.catholicicing.com/how-to-make-resurrection-rolls-aka/
- "Stained Glass" Cross: https://www.catholicicing.com/how-to-paint-temporary-stained-glass-on-windows/
- Natural Easter Egg Dyes: Didn't get your eggs dyed by Easter morning? Don't worry you can still do it any time during the 50 days of the Easter Season. For a new tradition, try using natural products you have around the house. https://www.reallifeathome.com/natural-egg-dyes/
- Catholic Mom: The Catholic Mom website is full of ideas to celebrate the liturgical year. I especially like their weekly activities that coordinate with the Sunday Gospel readings. https://www.catholicmom.com/sunday-mass-activities
