Preparations for our annual Wasco School Talent Show are underway! Auditions have already begun, and we're amazed by the incredible range of talents our students are showcasing. This year's spectacular event will be held at the Marquee Theatre. Our talented lineup includes comedians who will have you laughing, young songwriters sharing their original compositions, theatre performers bringing characters to life, and many more extraordinary acts!
We invite you to join us for this special celebration of our students' diverse talents. Your presence and encouragement mean the world to our young performers as they bravely share their gifts on stage. Mark your calendars and come cheer on your Wasco friends as they shine in the spotlight.

Last week, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students began their Illinois Assessment of Readiness testing. As I visited classrooms during these important assessments, I was filled with immense pride watching our students rise to the challenge.
During each testing session, our students showed focus and determination. They are engaging deeply with complex reading passages, thoughtfully answering questions, and crafting detailed written responses to demonstrate their understanding. The level of concentration and effort I've witnessed is truly impressive – our students are working extremely hard!
I've been particularly struck by their stamina. Many students were reading intently for extended periods. Their dedication certainly deserves recognition – and yes, plenty of recess time to recharge! Thank you for your continued support at home. After Spring Break, our students start the state testing for math

Congratulations to Christopher Pettit!
Congratulations to Christopher Pettit, Orchestra teacher at Bell Graham and Wasco, who was presented with the Bob Haisman Early Career Teacher of the Year Award by the Illinois Education Association (IEA) during the Representative Assembly (RA). The IEA award recipients were nominated and chosen for their awards by their peers, and the Bob Haisman Award recognizes early career teachers who are in their first 10 years of teaching.
Pettit expressed that his favorite part of District 303 are his colleagues and team, including the Orchestra team, the Instrumental team, and the more expansive Music and Arts team. “My colleagues are the best…and everyone I work with daily. We have such supportive, talented, and hard-working people serving our community.”
