FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents
Welcome to Term Two!
We hope you all had a restful break and were able to share time with your families during Easter. We are reminded that our Lord made the ultimate sacrifice for us so that we may have hope and peace in our world.
Mrs Williamson will be on leave this term and in her absence, I have been appointed Acting Principal by CEWA. I look forward to serving our community and appreciate the ongoing support provided.
Anzac Day
On Tuesday this week, we came together as a whole school community to remember those who have lost their lives in war particularly our ANZAC soldiers.
Our prayer service gave us the opportunity reflect on and pray for the many Australians who have fought and who may have been killed in wars and conflicts all over the world as well as all those who have returned home, many seriously affected physically and emotionally.
Pope Francis
It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our Holy Father, Pope Francis. As the universal shepherd of the Church, Pope Francis inspired millions with his humility, compassion, and unwavering commitment to justice, peace, and care for the most vulnerable.
On Tuesday 6 May we will commemorate Pope Francis in a Prayer Service at 11.00am in our school hall. We invite our school community to join us on the day. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace.
Winter Uniforms
It was great to see all the students in their winter uniform for the start of the term. Just a reminder to ensure that all pieces of clothing are labelled just in case they are misplaced.
With a new term commencing, it’s important to remind you that students should be adhering to the hair policy and keeping the fun haircuts and styles for the holidays.
Year 6 Camp
On Wednesday our Year 6 students went on camp to Woodman Point. Today they will return I am sure very tired and needing an extra holiday. A big thank you to Mr Darby, Mrs Capriotti, Mr O’Mara, Mr Hignett, Mrs Fisher, Mrs Cruse, Mrs Terranova and Mrs Fisher for your commitment in attending camp and providing this amazing opportunity for our students.
We look forward to hearing all about their adventures.
Father Francis Quoc Tran Farewell Mass
As mentioned in the previous newsletter, Father Quoc will be leaving our parish in the next couple of weeks and taking up a new appointment in another parish in the Archdiocese of Perth. Our Lady of the Missions Parish will be farewelling Fr Quoc on Sunday 18 May at the 10.00am Mass. We are all invited to attend Mass and farewell Fr Quoc and wish him every blessing as he takes on his new position.
Please see the invitation attached to this newsletter.
Executive Director of Catholic Education of WA
The Bishops of Western Australia have appointed a new Executive Director for Catholic Education of Western Australia. We congratulate Mrs Annette Morey who will take up this position in Semester 2. Currently Mrs Annette Morey is the Deputy Executive Director of CEWA.
Mr Wayne Bull will be retiring at the end of Semester 1 after 47 years of service in Catholic Education. We wish Mr Wayne Bull all the very best and bless and thank him for his commitment and service over the years.
Mother's Day Breakfast and Assembly
Please keep Friday 9 May free for our Mother’s Day Breakfast at 8am hosted by our lovely P&F and coordinated by Dan Sorgiovanni, followed by our special Mother’s Day assembly at 9am, presented by our Yr 1 children.
All mums and grandmas welcome. We look forward to seeing you all on the day.
Happy Mother's Day
Wishing all our mums, grandmothers and all mother figures a very Happy Mother's Day on Sunday 11 May.
'A mother’s love is the sun for growing, the moon for dreaming, the stars for guiding the way.'

Sacrament of Confirmation
The sacrament of Confirmation is a sacred moment in the lives of our young ones, where they publicly affirm their commitment to their faith and receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit. It's a time of spiritual growth and deepening of their relationship with God.
In the coming weeks, our Year 6 students will be preparing for this important sacrament. Please keep our Year 6 students in your thoughts and prayers as they approach Confirmation Day. Together, let's surround them with love, encouragement and the power of prayer.
Have a lovely weekend.
Ms Mac Callisto
Acting Principal

Containers for Change - Get Involved!
We’re excited to roll out our Containers for Change fundraising initiative! It’s a simple and effective way our PCPS community can support sustainability while raising funds for school projects.
Students can pop eligible 10c containers into the Containers for Change bin located in the amphitheatre during school hours.
Families are also welcome to support this initiative by:
- Scanning our P&F barcode at any official Containers for Change return centre.
- Dropping off bags of eligible containers at designated drop points using our scheme ID.
- Bringing containers to school and adding them to the collection bin.
Already collecting containers at home for your own refund? That’s totally fine—this is just another way to give back if you're keen to contribute!
Every 10c goes directly to projects that benefit our kids—whether it’s enhancing school facilities, adding new resources, or bringing our community events to life. Little actions, big impact.
Keep an eye out in Term 2 for more information from our Containers for Change team!
