📣 Message From Principal Miranda
Hello Students, Parents and Guardians,
October is here and will be gone in a flash due to Fall Break! Parents, please continue to observe the academic performance of your child and evaluate their progress as we head toward the end of first semester. Remember that Cholla has a credit recovery program available before, during, and after school for students in need of making up credits.
We are continuing to push the importance of attendance here at Cholla. Sweeps are taking place every day, every period. One of the biggest areas of concern is 1st period. Parents, we need your support to help us get kids to campus and in their 1st period classes by 8am daily. Lets start the 2nd quarter on a positive note with attendance being a main area of focus.
Go Chargers!
📝Curriculum Updates From Assistant Principal Adams
Parents, Students and Community Members,
Cholla Teachers are working hard to ensure that your child is prepared for the next milestone in their lives. Your students just finished with benchmark testing for this quarter. Please ask them how they did. Our teachers will continue to teach the TUSD Curriculum and State of Arizona standards in every classroom. If you would like to know more of what your student is learning, please email the teachers directly thru Student Vue.
On Monday, November 11th, 2024, there will be no school for Veteran’s Day. We would like to thank all of those that have served or are currently serving our country!

🎓International Baccalaureate Message From Dr. Green
Exciting times are occurring within the IB Program!
- Students have re-"Charged" the IB Club. Officers were chosen at our first meeting and are planning their goals out for the remainder of the semester! We had over 60 students at the first meeting in September, a sign of student commitment to the program.
- Seniors are working on their Internal Assessments in many of their subjects along with their university applications, so they are busy.
- Juniors are learning what it means to be in IB classes.
- Our new Career-Related (CP) students are busy doing community service hours at neighboring schools.
Don't be surprised if your IB students have 2+ hours of homework every day. The IB is our college-preparatory pathway at Cholla!

Congratulations to Ada Sanchez.
Congratulations to Ada Sanchez. She was our September ACE student of the month and was awarded September 10th at the Hungry Fox.
Ada started her high school journey failing most of her classes and struggled to stay motivated. Throughout the last 3 years she has grown into a kindhearted young woman who has demonstrated determination and courage. She has shown great improvements in her academics and has all A’s.
Ada is our 6th period student services office aide and was nominated by our office assistant Ms. Lopez. “Ada is an outstanding student! She's extremely hard working and never complains about any task she is given. She takes initiative on tasks even when she's not asked to help with them. Not only does she do amazing work, but she always does it with a smile on her face. She is an amazing student and deserves the recognition”. -Ms. Lopez
Congratulations to Mayte Vazquez Gonzalez who is our Kiwanis Student of the Month for September.
Congratulations to Mayte Vazquez Gonzalez who is our Kiwanis Student of the Month for September. Her mother and grandmother drove from Mexico to attend the breakfast ceremony.
Mayte was nominated by Ms. Nichole Garcia. Here is what Ms. Garcia had to say about her. "This student goes above and beyond in the classroom. She is a hard worker who constantly tries to better herself and improve her English abilities. She also helps her fellow classmates to understand what we are doing in class, and volunteers to show examples of how something is done. She is overall a wonderful student and deserves the world!"
This is Mayte's first year at Cholla and her first year living in Tucson. She is from Cananea, Sonora, Mexico. She is a senior who currently has straight A's. Mayte hopes to study medicine or pursue a degree in nursing. She is also an incredibly talented artist and already a proud Cholla Charger!
