Week at Windsor 5.20.20
Looking back and ahead at Windsor news and happenings...
Dear Windsor Families,
We apologize for the delay in our weekly message. We were wanting to solidify a few plans and details to alleviate a number of separate communications.
We tried to include as much as possible in this week's update. However, with the end of the school year approaching and as we are still navigating this unique remote learning landscape, we are sure there will continue to be more information to follow!
Thank you to all who were able to support Windsor's BeYOUnique Week. We are so proud of our YOUnique school community. We enjoyed taking time to highlight and celebrate, albeit remotely, last week. We've included a few Twitter highlights below.
We had our last Windsor PTA meeting last week. Many thanks to this year's PTA Executive Board. We appreciate your time and service to our PTA and school very much.
PRESIDENT: Heather Lepold
PRESIDENT-ELECT: Katy Wendt
SECRETARY: Elyse Coval
TREASURER: Sarah Anderson
VICE PRESIDENT of Ways & Means: Casey Deja
VICE PRESIDENT of Programs: Lauren Stump
MEMBERSHIP CHAIR: Kristin Keil
Per usual, we sent this week's Remote Learning Plans for grades K-5 on Sunday evening. As a reminder, there is no school or remote learning this Friday, because teachers will be engaged in school improvement planning. Additionally, Monday is Memorial Day, so it is a holiday for everyone.
Wishing us all more sunshine to end this week. We hope you and your children have a safe and fun long holiday weekend.
Piper Boston, Principal @PrincipalBoston
Lindsay Anastacio, Assistant Principal @lindzana

At the most recent PTA meeting, Mrs. Gail Komarek, our Windsor LMC Specialist, announced her plans to retire. This decision was a difficult one. She has been a true asset to Windsor and the District 25 community as a whole. We will be celebrating and recognizing all of this year's retirees in the upcoming days.
20-21 School Supplies Ordering
This year Windsor families have 2 vendors to choose from if ordering school supplies through the Windsor PTA. Here is a link with more information. https://windsorpta.org/2020/05/12/2020-school-supplies/
Note: A percentage of sales benefits the Windsor PTA! When ordering, please review and make sure you are ordering the correct grade for your child and save your email confirmation for receipt. Also, kits do not include headphones. Please plan to reuse or purchase headphones separately if requested by your student’s grade level.
Questions: Please contact Windsor PTA School Supply Committee, Courtney Childs (cechilds@gmail.com or 312-502-6553) or Kristine Gruzewski (kmorin72@yahoo.com or 773-704-7579).
You are also welcome to purchase supplies on your own. Here is a link to Windsor's 20-21 School Supplies.

As the Illinois stay at home and school closing order came through on Friday, we just want to highlight the above page once more for families. It contains a number of different local and state resources.
Additionally, the Illinois Department of Human Services launched a free emotional support text line for Illinoisans experiencing stress related to COVID-19: Call4Calm. This isn’t a crisis hotline, but a source of support. If you want to speak to a counselor, text TALK to 552020, or HABLAR for Spanish speakers.
You can also access a wider array of supports using the same number on your mobile phone. Text 552020 with keywords such as “unemployment” or “food” or “shelter” to receive information to help you navigate getting assistance.
